Always room for a brave soul. "Brave" was never mentioned in the selection criteria.

I still don't understand what happened in Aussie. A once great Nation driven over the edge. Totally insane. The USA is lucky to have President Trump! The alternative would have tried to mimic Aussie. I would like to think that it was the good intentions paving the way to hell, the noble cause corruption, or even just gullible venal politicians. But I am far closer to thinking this is major malfeasance - some of the cracks are showing when the leader of the international monetary fund talks about the reason for the Paris accord being nothing to do with Global Warming but to destroy capitalism. That being the case and the end-game being so close - they are not going to allow Donald Trump to take the prize away just before they got it without a very bitter fight, which is not going to be pretty.

When California goes broke, I guess that the tax payers MAY figure out what happened. Golden subsidies may become gold-colored cattle prods. The gold is gone but the rectal sheen remains.

From 'The Pointman' a heartfelt treatise on the solar 'power' scam. Read it to the end you will learn a lot about pointman as well as solar 'power'. Elon Musk and others on the gravy train may drop in your estimation though. thepointman.wordpress.com/2017/07/21/solaris-two/

"Imagine a sausage factory – the luckiest, most profitable sausage factory in the world. Its machines crank out their sausages, and lorries carry them to supermarkets. So far, so normal.
But this particular factory makes as many sausages as the management and staff choose. If they feel like taking the day off, the lorries and shelves stay empty. If they want to go a bit wild, they sometimes make so many sausages that there aren’t enough lorries to take them away. Or they carry on cranking out sausages even if the shelves are already full.
And here’s the really amazing thing: even when the lorries can’t cope or there is no demand for sausages, the factory gets paid. Indeed, they get paid more for not sending the sausages to the shops than for sending them. This is such great business that the factory is actually building an extension, so it can threaten to make even more unwanted sausages.
Does all that sound completely mad? Of course it does. But it’s what happens in the British electricity industry – where the blackmailing, money-printing sausage factory is a wind farm in Scotland.
There are currently about 750 wind farms north of the border, with roughly 3,000 wind turbines. Their total generating capacity amounts to 5,700 MW. The actual amount produced varies according to the weather. But at its maximum, that wind capacity is more than the 5.5 GW peak demand on the Scottish grid."capx.co/the-scottish-wind-power-racket/

H/T Tallbloke's talkshop.... "Large home charging units risk blowing a household's main fuse if used alongside energy-hungry appliances
Electric vehicle owners may not be able to rapidly charge their car at home at the same time as boiling a kettle, National Grid has warned.
The grid operator said that using a fast charger, which can be installed at home to reduce charging times, is likely to trip a house’s main fuse if used simultaneously with other ‘high demand’ items such as kettles, ovens and immersion heaters."www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-news/100527/charging-your-car-at-home-dont-boil-the-kettle-says-national-gridSo you get home, plug the car in to fast charge so it will be charged by tomorrow go to work time (reducing the battery life) and go to have a shower. Pfffft!! House in darkness, family lose TV and internet and the main fuse - in UK often outside the house - has blown. Now consider an apartment block. This is before the very very narrow margin that UK has of ~2% surplus (nameplate) generation capacity in winter is considered so that the grid itself will not be able to generate enough power to provide power for thousands (millions if the edicts stay in place) of electric vehicles. Politics is about to meet engineering reality. But NIMTO ** means that for the next few years the rules barring diesel and gasoline powered vehicles will be enshrined in pointless legislation. ** NIMTO - Not In My Term of Office

Some very good points, last couple of years, parking in Milton Keynes has started incorporating electric car bays with a power point (I imagine elsewhere out there too!!)
Only this year i find all these bays full with a placental like chord feeding the beast in the nose...
Our energy system is getting pushed at both ends, placing a demand fulfilled by petrol on electricity supply, while supplying that electricity from literally thin air!!

I don't know how, but we have got to get over this "Wind" madness crap. www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/The Billions of lbs that the Brits have put into this insane idea, and what do they have? 12% wind generation. Same happening in USA. Build a wind farm, then build another generating station so that the wind can work. Would be like me having a $500,000 4WD tractor sitting in the yard in case the one I am running breaks. Redundant backup, about the most idiotic idea that I have observed in my life time. NOW, I wonder how MANY wind turbines are in Florida? What do you think their fate will be?
