I'm just north of Atlanta. Our lake is frozen solid (as you would expect with the temperature getting down to 9 degrees, F, and not being above freezing for days). The average amount of ice on it is zero for everyday of the year. I think it has happened only once since I moved here in 1987. If I developed a theory that held global warming responsible, think I could get published?

I'm in Victoria, on a hill! Yes, Sad in Queensland. Glad u r ok. Ran across this news item ... www.pr-inside.com/profitability-highest-when-stena-bulk-r2337583.htmThe weather and the ice situation are causing disruptions and delays in tanker traffic. For example, ice coverage in the Baltic at the beginning of January 2011 is already more extensive than it was in February 2010.

14the Feb - Baltic freeze continues way ahead of "normal" Current Baltic ice: "Normal" Last year Baltic sea surface temps are below normal. Note: The temperature anomalies over the Baltic are currently very negative, and the freeze up has started again after a few weeks of doing not much.
