SCPG, I trust the world's media about as far as I could throw Mount Shasta. And I trust that group of fourteen to seventeen year olds who call themselves Journolisters about a third that far.

SCPG, I trust the world's media about as far as I could throw Mount Shasta. Absolutely beautiful mountain. The Sierra Nevadas are my home. Lived in Susanville for a while. Dad worked on the Lassen National Forest.

Yes, SCGP, I agree. If my wife of (almost) 61 years were not unalterably convinced that anything west of the Mississippi River or north of Memphis is unfit for long term human habitation, I would like to see Shasta again. Or live there. But it is all I can do to get her to St. Louis.

Or live there. But it is all I can do to get her to St. Louis. Stranger I would say that is sad but I understand. N. CA is my home. Always has been and always will. My dad worked for the Forest Service as you might have guessed and I spent a lot of time in the woods. Wind gets to blowing through those tall pines and it can sound like white water.
