The sadder part will be all the people who will have added reason to through out vaccinations and other benefits of modern medicine as the same bs as agw.

If the religious right where the only people skeptical of agw I would be much less skeptical, but that isn't the case. John Christie, Bill Gray, Reid Bryson, Joe Bastardi, John Coleman, Joe D'Aleo are all serious main stream scientists and meterologists. And despite his occasionally vocal support of ID Roy Spensers is an award winning scientist and his papers are subject to the same peer review as a any other scientist. He gets no pass for his religious beliefs. Only agw scientists get a pass for their religious beliefs!!!

Just as Stalin before him Al Gore goes on the offensive again: "I believe for a carbon company to spend money convincing the stock-buying public that the risk from the global climate crisis is not that great represents a form of stock fraud because they are misrepresenting a material fact," he said. "I hope these state attorney generals around the country will take some action on that." Scientific Debate??? We don't need no $#@#$% debate!!! Im wondering where the material fact is to be found! The IPCC still has not announced its 100% certain that CO2 warms the atmosphere. Many other scientists think CO2 is simply a plant food - nothing more.

I've been out of it for a few days, so forgive me if this has been posted on another thread, but this is the Gore/Hansen imatation of Stalin/Lysenko. From ICECAP.
Perhaps it is time to reread Gulag Archapelago to know how cold it can get, particularly without freedom and liberty.
It is quite possible, as will be claimed, that neither Hansen or Gore ever heard of Professor Deming, but they have certainly both descibed what they think should happen to skeptics and others who disagree with them. Chillingly they have won a round.

What is most chilling is how few now value liberty. "Give me liberty or death" would be regarded as wierd by the vast majority.
The Internet remains the one (largely) uncontrolled source of information (and dis-information!). We should all be warned that Google keeps complete records of all searches.)
The current economic situation is ripe for the most totalitarian move in years to "sort out the mess"-
Only more will suffer as we sink into a command economy. I grew up in a soviet style economy (Yes New Zealand was arguabley the closest to a Soviet style economy in the West- governed by Fabian Socialists in the late 1880's and one of the first to adopt a debilitating social welfare system that almost destroyed the Maori race. Fortunately a large number of Maori have escaped the system and live in Australia ;D.)
I recall the horror of a Russian immigrant coming to NZ and finding even fewer freedoms than back in Russia!

As the political prisoners of the USSR would swear, as they were carted away to die in Siberia, if only Papa Joe truely knew what was really going on he would save them.
Tomorrow's victims are already in that state of denial.

The list of things that have caused problems to David Deming's career appears to be about as long as the list of things allegedly caused by global warming posted by magellan on the "Anecdotal evidence for/against AGW". It sounds like people just think he is an awkward git. I note that in this article from a few years ago though, it doesn't mention global warming at all. www.campusreportonline.net/main/articles.php?id=257

In these politically correct times, he does stand out. He'll be one of the first we put in the Gulag, comrade. Fancy opposing putting inferior academics into posts just because they are from a minority group.
Heavens, if we followed his ideas, we could soon have academic excellence, and more tall poppies to have to cut down when the revolution comes. It does dampen things when we have to cart them off in the early hours of the morning.
No, No, we need to bring everyone down to the same level. We can't have the rich. Lets make everyone poor.
And Guns? No No, we can't have anyone standing up for liberty. We want them to all to just obey the party.

Damn, Kiwi...
I didn't know you were 130 years old. And I didn't know that socialism was a going concern in the 1880's.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabian_SocietyFabian Socialism was in the late 1800's and was influential in early NZ Government (unlike Oz, which was ruled first by the Redcoats until the ex convict Irish took over (to this day!) ;D

So Steve,
It appears that if you are liberal, then you can criticize your school administration using any kind of language you wish, but if you have conservative political beliefs you are likely to get censured or fired.
So boringly liberal.
But you know, who really needs free speech rights. That conservative document called the constitution really needs a rewrite, doesn't it.
The ghosts of Joe and Trofim still exert influence, even from the grave.

The right to speak up against AGW is also freedom of speech. Science of all places should be where freedom of speech exists - that should be its very foundation.
