It would be very helpful to me if I could be pointed in the direction of daily ap/kp incidices for every year or decade in some sort of crunchable format, the quarterly ones are a pain in the butt to put together - thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Here is my version of Ap: www.leif.org/research/Leifs-Ap-1844-Now.xlsHere is how it is constructed: www.leif.org/research/Ap%201844-2009.pdfThere is no long-term trend

There is was a brief and brilliant auroral display in the Indianapolis area that subsided substantially about 9:30-9:35 local time (I didn't see the beginning unfortunately)-- a bright arc stretching at least 120 degrees from NW to NE. The highest reach was about 50 degrees above horizon, perhaps a little East of due North. It was almost continuous red, with varying intensity along the arc. What I haven't seen before is periodic appearance of long N-S yellow/white lines. I think there were green areas near the Northern horizon, but it was too light polluted to tell for sure. Now it is just a pale non-descript color and appears to be fading. Hoping it will re-appear.

Washington County, Southern Indiana, will be looking tonight. We have good dark skies when the humidity is low. Will be keeping an eye on the K index, but not too hopeful.

There are a lot of graphics on the web, some good, some old. I would recommend searching through NCAR. Here is an article that enlightened me a lot (solar pun) ;D : www.hao.ucar.edu/research/siv/siv_dynamo.phpDr. "I" could probably direct you to the latest and greatest.
