Do you expect that we'd see solar flares and CMEs emanating from invisible spot regions during the cycle maxima of a 'Maunder Minimum'-like reoccurrence? If so, would you expect an overall lower intensity?

Yes I do, but it is hard to put numbers on it. I do not expect lower intensity as the explosions are governed by local conditions.
The number of geomagnetic storms [caused by solar explosions] follow the sunspot cycles, but their intensity [lower panel] does not seem to do that:
