Yet another subsidy farm marker falls - this will become a common occurrence as the real world maintenance issues catch up with Green 'power'. Estimate is of ~10 year life for off-shore wind turbines. Those involved must be convinced they can cut and run before people notice.

Another view of the 'dead' subsidy farm marker - apparently the wind was light at the time.

isn't this the one the liberal Kennedys and that one tv anchor fought because it would destroy the view from their mansions?

I hear they are cheap to come by .... Give any offshore structure like that 10 years and it will be a corroding heap anyway - they only have to last until the subsidies have been paid.

If some of the studies quoted were to be replicated - and it would be easy to create a double blind experiment by walking blindfolded subjects into houses with blacked out windows some near wind turbines others not without the researchers knowing who went where. Then they report over internet perhaps any sensations that they don't like as they occur. Some locations would be tens of miles from any turbines others would be close but the people in th houses would not know and the researchers recording responses would not know. At the same time a continual timestamped record would be kept of the operations of the turbines and the level of infrasound. Easy to set up - and difficult for either side to complain about.

It's lucky UK has all those windmills in Scotland - and it's windy and it's only November .... National Grid Contingency Actionas they are already running out of power and telling industry customers to cut back and/or use their own generators. Not had to use the diesel generators of STOR yet, but that will only take a cold snap which is overdue. "Don't sell your coat" as Harold used to say

Honduras has a better delivery rate than that! Welcome to the new 3rd World order. But the Pope will make it right in Paris.
