We do not have a 2 party system. It is a one party system and voting R will not change anything. Sometimes the boat tacks left, sometimes it tacks right but it is always moving in the same direction, to heck in a hand basket.
How did the 'Cut Cap and Balance' get passed? If the same types from the House were in the Senate, it would have been passed.
So, Obamacare would have been passed? Finance "reform" would have been passed effectively taking over the banking system? The porkulus would have been passed? 800 days without a budget would have been acceptable?
How can anyone say they are even remotely the same given last year's election results and recent battles in Congress?
You are asking for a lot in one thread but I'll try. I don't say what I say without having seen evidence. I may not be able to reproduce it here but I'll try.
And this idea that Sarah Palin was vetted by who? Kissinger? Based on what evidence? Did they make her swallow the blue pill or the red pill? McCain was in a pickle and needed her, it's that simple.
Even if I give you evidence I doubt you will believe. You really need to start investigating things, stop buying into the propaganda.
February 12, 2010 A warning to the Tea Party Nation
By Chuck Baldwin
...The Tea Parties of 2010 remind me very much of the Conservative Revolution of 1994. And if the Tea Party Nation is not very careful, they will succumb to the same fate. The signs of a silent takeover of the movement are already appearing.
First of all, the Tea Parties were actually born during the Presidential campaign of Congressman Ron Paul of Texas in 2007 and 2008. For all intents and purposes, the Tea Parties and the Ron Paul Revolution were one and the same. These were (mostly) young people, who were sick and tired of the same old establishment Republican Party. They were tired of establishment Republicans selling out the principles of limited government; they were tired of the US Constitution being ignored and trampled by both Republicans and Democrats; they were tired of an incessant interventionist US foreign policy that keeps sending US forces overseas to advance a burgeoning New World Order (NWO); they were tired of perpetual war; they were tired of the bank bailouts; they were tired of the Federal Reserve; etc.
I know this because I met — and spoke before — the Tea Party Nation in State after State as I campaigned for Dr. Paul during the Republican primaries back in 2008. And I met them again all over America, as I was running as an Independent candidate for President — with Ron Paul's endorsement, no less. I was with them in scores of meetings (big and small) from Washington, D.C., to Spokane, Washington, and all points in between.
But now many of the Tea Parties are distancing themselves from Dr. Paul and embracing establishment players such as Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. Even Newt Gingrich is being courted. Watch out, Tea Party Nation: you're in danger of losing your soul! Newt Gingrich is not one of you. He is not your friend. He is an imposter. He will destroy you just like he almost single-handedly destroyed the Conservative Revolution of 1994.
Plus, be careful about Sarah Palin and other establishment Republicans. Palin is currently playing both sides. She is promoting Big Government neocons such as John McCain on the one hand, and sincere conservative-libertarians such as Rand Paul on the other hand. But if one wants a real barometer of Palin's true colors, look no further than her endorsement of Rick Perry in Texas.
Perry is the quintessential establishment Republican. Perry has been in office for some 9 years, and what has he done to thwart the NWO in Texas? Nothing! Perry is even a Bilderberg Group attendee. What has he done for State sovereignty in Texas? Nothing! In fact, he supports the North American Union and the NAFTA superhighway. What has he done to resist Obama's universal health care proposals? Nothing! What has he done to protect the citizens of Texas against an emerging Police State? Nothing! What has he done to fight illegal immigration? Nothing!
...
Don't get me wrong; there are things about Sarah Palin that I like. I especially appreciate her pro-life and pro-Second Amendment stands. I also appreciate her signing the Alaska State sovereignty resolution while she was governor. By all indications, she did a good job as Alaska's chief executive. At the national level, however, she favors the Patriot Act — and even wants to expand it. She supported the banker bailouts. And when it comes to foreign policy issues, Palin is just another neocon. Plus, as with most Republicans at the national level, I think she is clueless about the NWO. And please remember, it was Mr. New World Order himself, Henry Kissinger, who vetted Palin on behalf of McCain.

September 22, 2008 Palin Will Meet With Kissinger and Foreign Leaders By ELISABETH BUMILLER

But it is likely that Mr. Kissinger, a close outside adviser to Mr. McCain’s campaign, will give Ms. Palin a broad overview of international affairs, focusing particularly on Russia, China and the Middle East. Mr. Kissinger, who was national security adviser and secretary of state in the Nixon and Ford administrations, is regularly called on by Mr. McCain for advice on foreign affairs.
Palin: 'Only Flag In My Office' Is Israeli On the Hustings By Staff Reporter of the Sun 9-27-8
President Peres of Israel yesterday met for the first time with Governor Palin and with Senator McCain, who called the veteran Israeli statesman "my old friend." The warm handshake and exchange of broad smiles occurred during an international gathering known as the Clinton Global Initiative, hosted by President Clinton. "I wanted to meet you for many years," Ms. Palin told Mr. Peres, according to an aide to the president. "The only flag at my office is an Israeli flag," she was quoted as saying, "and I want you to know and I want Israelis to know that I am a friend."

Michelle Bachman is a closet liberal? She refuses to sign any bill that raises the debt limit, and that's just a cover? And was "vetted" by who? Where does this kooky stuff come from?
I see Bachmann as a replacement for Palin who is never going to win the nomination. I know I've seen information on her but I'll have to look for it.
Allen West is what?
Like Bachmann I'll have to poke around for that one. IT was Caine I had problems with as he is Federal Reserve.
Paul Ryan?
I want specifics on this notion the 'Tea Party' has been infiltrated. Do you attend local meetings? I do, and it isn't just Republicans there either.
Not all Tea Party groups are the same. We have good and bad ones locally as well. The national Tea Party Patriots had some financial shenanigans going on. The fact that Palin, Perry, etc are being touted as Tea Party People by the media should give you a clue.
Tea Party Movement is Infiltrated by Neoconservative Influence and Candidates
Barack Obama's stated goal was to "fundamentally transform America", ruin the private sector, rewrite the Constitution and destroy the very foundation of our country, and yet there's no difference between the two parties?
Obama did what Bush did with spending in two years and there's no difference? He's a one man wrecking ball. The recession and consequent financial collapse was caused by the housing bubble, no ifs ands or buts. It was government using the market as a social engineering playground and predictably failed.
The Democrats didn't get us down this road by themselves. Bush did away with a good portion of the constitution. He even did away with habeous corpus.
Bush and Lincoln both Suspended Habeas Corpus There were differences and similarities
By Robert Longley, About.com Guide
On Oct. 17, 2006, President Bush signed a law suspending the right of habeas corpus to persons "determined by the United States" to be an "enemy combatant" in the Global War on Terror. President Bush's action drew severe criticism, mainly for the law's failure to specifically designate who in the United Stateswill determine who is and who is not an "enemy combatant."

Sorry, I can't be that defeatist, and I have my kid's future to think of. I will fight on. Most people I speak with know the country is literally teetering on the brink after two years of Obama/Democrats, and understand we are toast unless drastic measures are taken to save the country.
There is no reason why the elitist Republicans can't be kicked out and replaced.
You can't kick people out if you don't know there is a problem. I'm just trying to educate people on the problem. What good will it do you to trade one establishment republican for another? Nor do I believe in the integrity of our voting system. In every country in the world, exit polls are used to determine the validity of the election. Every country but one. Guess which one.
What exactly is it you want, seriously? This is not a game. It is the survival of our country for God's sake.
I want the people to wake up. No it is not a game. Yes it is the survival of our country. First step, stop listening to FAUX news. They are establishment plain and simple.
NWO - A look into the Future. Recorded 5 years ago with Ron Paul.
I think Congressmen should wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers so we could identify their corporate sponsors.
Magellan: Just look up Minn...her votes. Also look at the house, her votes. She supported the Patriot Act, one of the worst peices of legislation every enacted. Do I even need to say more than that? Think about what she is proposing now?
She won't even vote for a bill that has a balanced ammendment provision in it.
She thinks gays are somehow tarnished. I have a niece that is gay. She has always been gay. I am not saying that I like that, but that is how she is. I will not condem her for that.
Examine her minn record tho and do a bit of research. She is not who she tries to project.
The fastest way we can get this worked out is somehow to get a law passed that whenever there is a Fed Budget deficit that all members of Congress and the President must resign and are not eligable for re-election for 60 years. That would take care of the budget problem in a hurry.
I think the fastest way is to get rid of the Federal Reserve. I noticed this chart on another forum. Look at it with the idea the Federal Reserve was started in 1913.

Everybody wants to get kissed, but nobody wants to get screwed. The politicians are simply uncertain who to kiss and who to screw. My advise would be to kiss the guys with the guns.

A question: Is the current western economic malaise and decreasing prosperity a consequence of the monopoly of non-market systems which distribute wealth and rewards in accordance with state mandated status and entitlement? Are extant economic models which are the creation of complex command economy theory utterly disconnected from individual effort, productivity, and trade. Or instead of trying to undo the gordian knot of a million laws, should we simply learn Mandarin and buy gold?

scpg02, A little dated (2007). Morgan dollars are .7734 troy oz silver. At current prices ( close to $40/oz ) that means a Morgan dollar would buy approx 30 qts of gas.
But the basic message still pertains.
Some others: Peace and Liberty Seated dollars back to 1840 contain .77344 troy ounce (ASW) actual silver weight of pure silver. The silver-clad Eisenhowers in official mint sets and proof sets from 1971 to 1976 contain .3161 troy ounce (ASW). The Trade Dollars of 1873 to 1885 had .7874 troy ounce (ASW).
Silver Eagle" coins that have a denomination of $1, contain 1 oz of .999 fine silver.

The debt that get's paid first is the bond holders, etc. That's what they are talking about with default. Whatever is left over is prioritized to seniors, military salary, retired military, etc. If there is no deal, there's going to be a whole lot of pissed off people, many of whom have access to serious weaponry, and not all of those are active duty military.
This could very easily turn into something nobody wants to see happen.

Raising the debt ceiling is not the answer. Democrats won't even vote on a balanced budget amendment. People in DC aren't living in reality.

I agree. I think you meant in their own reality, tho. Anyway, as I've mentioned previously, this isn't really about money. It's about who's in charge, control, etc.

Some info about how this default biz might affect servicemen and women, both active and vets. The info is there is no info forthcoming from the administration. Gee, that's comforting.

Veterans are frightened about a government default, and little is being said to relieve those fears, the executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America said Wednesday.
One day after military and veterans groups were called to the White House to talk with Obama administration officials about the possible Aug. 2 default, Paul Rieckhoff, founder and executive director of IAVA, said it is not clear how veterans might be affected.
“Veterans are concerned and scared,” Rieckhoff said, citing specific concerns, unanswered in the White House meeting, about whether disability and survivor benefits or GI Bill education benefits, including monthly living stipends, will be paid if a federal debt and spending agreement is not reached.
Rieckhoff’s comments were made before the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, which held a hearing about the long-term costs of helping wounded combat veterans.
The White House briefing for military and veterans’ groups provided no information about how veterans programs or military compensation might suffer in a default, Rieckhoff said.
Well, the cheering over this budget deal sure didn't last long. Dow futures were up over 100 before opening, and have been going in the toilet since. Down 138 as of this writing. Dum dee dum dum. And nobody knows the details of what they will be voting on today in the House. What a deal.
The details are smoke and mirrors, with no cuts, just a slow down in the rate of increase. And no revenue increase, so the level of debt will still rise approx 2.7 trillion in the next two years. It does nothing to solve the fiscal mess the USA is in.
