Uh, no, it is undeniable, with a small caveat. By definition, slightly less than 50% of the energy is sent back. The reason it is slightly less is that the atmosphere is round instead of flat. The direction of re-emission is completely random, so nearly 50% of all emissions return the energy back towards the planet. Until you understand this very basic fact, you won't be able to understand the greenhouse effect at all.
I acknowledge a major caveat in my theory. I wasn't mentioning in hope that someone would think about the theory enough to find it. One for sure one is going to never find it if their entire discussion of it is in the form of a chant.
