Some of that lost ice seems to have found its way onto Greenland:

Only about 10 weeks before refreeze starts in Greenland.
The way this year is going - still snowing in the Rockies - I sort of doubt that this will be much of a melt year.
All that lovely water now being extracted and dropped on the ice-sheet.
Might sea levels start to drop soon?

The Magic Molecule freezes or burns at its discretion it seems. If only you could train it, That will be Big Al's next gig ... CO2 Trainer. Tough jobs require the big bucks.

Global Sea ice is heading for a record low again over the next couple of days. In the Arctic we are tracking the record losses of 2012 ( even though we have less ice volume this year than we had in 2012) with a big low about to mess up laptev over the next few days?
This is far worse than I dared imagine this start of the season to be? What I have no idea of is how any final descent to ice free will look on the graphs? With the majority of the ice all sub 2m it will all fail around the same time so I'm thinking it will be a 'cliff' that just does not stop? ( most 'cliffs' last for less then 3 weeks historically )

2002 , with all the extra ice to melt , is still just ahead of our 2017 june losses ( even though we started from a record low point so all of these losses are from the central areas not bering Sea .Okhotsk etc).
With the heat currently building across swathes of the U.S. it looks like a long hot summer to come!!!
