If you go to www.earthatnullschool.net/ and look at 250, 70, 10 hPa you will see that there is a very strong polar vortex and lower down there are almost no 'southerly' winds blowing warmer air into the Arctic. Seems to be a stable set up too. That uptick may continue.

data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/maps/index_v4.htmlNot looking good for the start of melt season? With China's lockdown now long enough for some of their particulates to drop out (whilst a strong polar night jet kept the Arctic locked up in the 'Arctic'?) we are seeing massive anoms for Feb from GISS! 4c to 11.9c widely across Siberia and N China??? Should this roll into March then expect rapid snow cover loss and so an early warming for the coastal regions of the Basin. We know the loss of snow cover impacts temps up to 1,500km away so that's quiter a swathe of the basin that will begin to see temps inflated as the PONJ fails and collapses for this season.... Then there's the permafrost and those pesky 'Pingo Like Structures' across Yamal? What will a hot summer do to those? Well, If the planet's content on taking us all to Hell in a handcart it might as well do it in a timely fashion!!!

Earth has had conditions similar to what you are forecasting in the recent past. That period is known as the Holocene Climate Optimum.

"Highest Svalbard sea ice since 1988 with Bear Island in the south surrounded
From 3-7 April this year, sea ice around Svalbard Norway has been the highest since 1988, but only 6th or 7th highest since records began in the 1970s. Pack ice is year surrounds Bear Island (Bjørnøya) at the southern end of the archipelago for the first time since 2009 at this date, and continues the pattern of high extent and thickness of ice in the Barents Sea since last summer."wattsupwiththat.com/2020/04/11/highest-svalbard-sea-ice-since-1988-with-bear-island-in-the-south-surrounded/
