Well if the upcoming Di-Pole comes to fruition we can expect a continuation of the recent uptick in losses? The one thing that was looking good was the fall off in export in June but Fram will get a shunt if the pattern verifies?
The loss of the Pacific side is a worry.

So 2015/16? eh? Your already calling the coming winter a dud yet the blob made sure last winter ended on a record low extent and after this summers melt how will all those KW's plumping up 'the blob' impacts winter over the Pacific side of the basin???
Should the Arctic impacted Jet give the eastern seaboard U.S. another chilly one ( keeping the cold out of the basin) then what of ice formation this year?
So we have next years 'nino' boosted Pacific melting on top of the prospect of another poor winter ( going off the last one) and folk are calling it bust already???
Then we have the prospect of the cyclical return of 'The Perfect Melt Storm' in 2017....
Anyhow we've been seeing massive losses in extent over the past 14 days and these look set to continue so expect to wave tah da to 14 and 13 over the coming week . Should loss rates continue then we will be back down in the lowest 3 in around 11 days?

I did suspect a lot of the 'knowledge' here is lifted straight from the press........... you are , of course, talking about a 'conference paper' are you not? Let us see it after it is peer reviewed ( like the rest of science ) before we begin to ponder the wonder of the synchronicity of invisible double dynamo's and how we know where they are at within their alleged cycle.......... meanwhile , back in the 'here and now'......

The Eastern seaboard of the USA is going to have another chilly one as a result of the sun cycle. I am like Trenbeth in regards to Jen's paper. He can't see it and I can't see it either.

Actually i was referring to the Met Offices reference to 30 years cooling but then more warming....but yeah, you know....there does seem to be more news of this sort lately......

rclutz.wordpress.com/2015/05/26/climate-on-ice-ocean-ice-dynamics/When white men started to explore the north of America, they first encountered the Crees. Hudson Bay posts were established to trade goods for pelts, especially the beavers used for making those top hats worn by every gentleman of the day. The Crees told the whites that further on toward the Arctic Circle there were others they called “eskimos”. The Cree word means “eaters of raw meat” and it is derogatory. The Inuit (as they call themselves) were found to have dozens of words for snow, a necessary vocabulary for surviving in the Arctic world.
