Nah, satellite malfunction, Dont worry another will be along in a minute!! www.nola.com/environment/index.ssf/2016/06/arctic_sea_ice_low.html#incart_river_home. None of it matters. Mark Serreze, he of the always accurate to a tenth of a square meter predictions of low ice extent, has once again breathlessly proclaimed our doom. His ramblings are duly reported by the Washington Post as Gospel, and thence repeated in every rag in America, including my very own home-grown fish wrap, The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Any contrary opinions are left to be preached to the somewhat sizable choir at WUWT, or the octet that follows Tony. No sanity reaches those who are unwilling to dig beneath the official pronouncements of the Climate High Priests and their enablers. I fear for the future, my friends. In the immortal words of "Otter" Stratton, "there's only one thing left to do in this situation, gentlemen . . . drink heavily!"

Higher political ground will give us a much better view when we take that 'final swan' ... with time enough for a drink on the way down. Cheers! Shaken but not stirred.

No local authorities should stop development regardless of risk. Its a genuine Darwinian frontier and as such vital for us all.
my issue is with the insurance industry if they have encouraged the development by cross subsidizing premiums from sensible people.
The last major storm of this type was in the 70's and the 20's last century the likely cause would have been horse dung build up or what ever was the prevailing fascination of the time. no real sign of that perma drought predicted a few years ago by some band idiot turned poli.

After a long absence, I have returned briefly to say goodbye. Climate change has lost all interest for me - at least the passion to say anything has gone. Since late 2014, I have studied naught but biochemistry, nutrition and (lately) stroke recovery. After all, the current obesity epidemic is going to bankrupt the West long before the Climate Change industry does so. The government health guidelines are killing more people daily than high electricity prices ever will. To catch me, you'll find me at kiwistonewall.wordpress.com/ talking nutritional science, stroke recovery, and other things that annoy me about the modern health system! kind regards to all.

Hi Kiwi, Sorry to see you go. Have a look at the book 'Good Calories Bad Calories' - it may be in your area of interest. Gary Taubes and Dr Peter Attia formed the non-profit NUSI (http://nusi.org/) funded by public donations to support research into obesity (especially childhood obesity) I am familiar with their work. Peter Attia has been very helpful (eatingacademy.com) but he has left NUSI and gone into private medical practice. As he says, Nutrition is too like politics and religion, and he got a bit tired of all that. I am a little more eclectic in my approach - it isn't just Sucrose, or fructose, or carbs. It is a little more complex than that. Why have carbs become so toxic? Is it Roundup? Plastics? DES? Processed Oils? I know how to stop the damage, and maybe reverse things, but this whole area is a mess. My blog is going to be a but of everything, but a pointer to those I respect who each have part of the answer. Take care

Kiwi: May your wife continue to improve. Thanks for the link to your blog. And Sig, I owe my wife's life to you thanks to your pointing me in the right direction. Had she still been obese, and metabolically ill, pre-diabetic etc etc I don't think she would have come through the stroke as well and as fast as she has. She was heading for an early death. We both now have hope for the future - instead of just facing a miserable decline into ever more serious medical conditions. Oh, we all die of something - but our journey through the next 20 or 30 years together is something I now believe more likely, instead of my facing a long time without my soulmate. God bless you sir!
