You are. And I rather fancy there is a line forming to be the driver of the truck, so they can strut about pretending to be a marine. It is that psychological attitude that is more threatening than the truck.

The projections assume not having a world wide pandemic. Looks to me like viruses are mutating fast enough to potentially cause this to happen.

The UN's CAGW story requires the worlds population to rise very fast. I think they have a high size assumption of 15 billion @2100.
Garbage in garbage out. I can write a high side story if I can pick the assumptions.

Ever wonder about selective pandemics, those with purpose? There is an inverse relationship in most pathogens between infectivity and mortality rate. In their normal host species most pathogens are almost benign but very infective, meaning that the pathogen spreads widely. A pathogen that is very infective with a high mortality rate tends not to spread very far after an initial infective burst. However, every now and then a 6 sigma variant appears that is highly infective _and_ has a high mortality rate most of these have an infective incubation period when the host is infective but has very mild or no symptoms. To have airborne transmission, ebola would need quite a large mutation in the way it infects cells. However if it was to mutate in some way to have airborne transmission you could see towns and villages putting up physical boundaries in the way they did during the plague, where entire villages would be barricaded off either to keep infected people in the village or to keep infective people out. {As an aside: " Etymology of 'Quarantine'
The word Quarantine originates from the Venetian Dialect 'Quaranta,Giomi' which means 40 days.
During the days of the Black Death , the ships from China where not allowed to enter the Venetian ports as and when they arrived. They had to wait for a period of 40 days , so that they could make sure the ship contained no plague causing rats. Why? Because, between 1348 and 1359, the Black Death had wiped out 30% of the population in Europe, as well as a significant percentage of Asia's population.
At first, the source of the plague was unknown. By the time the authorities found out that it was caused by rats, it was rather too late.
They obviously did not want to repeat this mistake in Venice and enforced a 40(Quaranta) days waiting time on the ships, before they could unload on the port. This was done to check whether anyone in the ship had developed any symptoms of plague."Grim Reminder of the Black Death}

Obviously there is no way no how that trooper should be carrying a gun. I will leave it to a jury if he should be imprisoned. That was totally stupid, my gawd, a seatbelt violation! The trooper must be whacked out on something. Now if he had ordered the man to step away from his car or drop to the ground and the guy dove back into the car then there might be some justification. But you can hear him ordering the guy to produce his driver's license and the guy after checking his back pocket reached back into his car. Malicious or stone stupid I can't be sure but I can be sure it was one of the two.

The protests in Hong Kong have the potential to spread and get really ugly. The ruling party in China is watching this very, very close and civil unrest can easily spread. Keep an eye on how the world markets react to this. The worlds economy will be greatly effected and the "failure" of the U.S. may come from civil/economic turbulence abroad.

What can the US do with regards to King Kong? The environment is prehistoric, it seems our best course of action is to just do nothing as our involvement would result in more lost lives and the beauty psychologically damaged. I don't think we can or should do anything about the events in Hong Kong. But you can be assured the leaders in China are paying close attention. Their biggest fear is instability caused by civil unrest that would threaten there grasp on power.

I disagree. This is a regional conflict. Stay out. It is high time for some to grow a backbone.
