Vote! 1. If you haven't yet voted, and are a registered US citizen, please consider voting. 2. If you are not a US citizen, don't vote. 3. If you live in Chicago (or elsewhere) and have already voted, please don't vote again. 4. If you are dead (even if you are registered in Chicago), don't vote. This rule supersedes rule number one. globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/In Georgia, according to Jimmy Carter in his book Turning Point, after he won election to the state legislature, they passed a law that you could no longer vote if you had been dead for more than three years.

It hasn't been 24 hours since the shellacking of the Democrats this election cycle, and Mitch McConnell is already selling us out, promising to "work with" President Obama. No talk of repealing Obamacare, stopping Obama's march over the cliff or reducing spending, despite the fact virtually every Senate race won by Republicans was run on repealing Obamacare.
I'll bet McConnell already had a deal worked out with Obama before the election.
That fossil along with Boehner need to go.

Of course he will have to work with President Obama. McConnell is not King, nor is Boehner. Republicans need to come up with a fiscal plan that actually cuts spending, and have no area that is off the table. And then they have to propose ways to increase revenue. The cliff is very close now. In fact, can hear the icebergs hitting it.

Icebergs or the sound of boiling water!
I'm with Sig here they need to be sane in their response to the successes of the election. Rome was not built in a day and the presidency is still out there to be won. I personally have strong libertarian beliefs and these fly against much that the Republicans stand for but Obama is very likely the most disappointing leader we have seen anywhere. It makes fools of the Nobel Prize mob who awarded a prize to a person before he did anything. Very strange!

The global elites who run things want it and they will have it no matter what. Even if you did get it repealed, they will continue to push to get it just like they did with the Patriot act. That needs to go away too but it never will.

Magellan, It's easy appealing to the simple minded and running on a platform of "repealing Obamacare". Not so easy actually getting it done. If you for one second took the Republican promises at face value I have a bridge I want to sell you. Math has not been their strong suit and I am sure Cruz and Co. will keep wasting their time tilting at windmills but it ain't going to happen. Hopefully both sides can find some middle ground on just how to restore fiscal sanity back into Washington and get something done. But I doubt it. Big business now controls the purse stings and they give generously to both sides.

Sure glennkoks, just like you said Ted Cruz was hurting Republican chances of taking the Senate back by "shutting down" the government. McConnell will cave just like he always has. The imbecile just announced there would be no government shutdown, so there you have it, "middle ground". Explain to me what middle ground means without continuing out of control government spending. Moderates are gutless meandering cowards who stand for nothing. We've been doing the middle ground game for decades and here we are ~18 TRILLION in debt, over $100 TRILLION (some say 200) in unfunded liabilities, and no end in sight to more government intrusion in our lives. The spending will continue, government will continue to grow, and the likes of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner will continue the trend. Republicans were not elected to govern, but simply to stop Obama from "fundamentally transforming America", and that includes Obamacare. That's it. Virtually every Senator that won was running on that platform. You are aware of the surprises Obama has in store after the election right?

What might they be? Let's put them down. As a resident of the UK can you explain.....simply......whats wrong with Obamacare. We haven't had much info about it here but obviously is a major concern in the US.

We haven't had much info about it here but obviously is a major concern in the US. Besides being the largest tax on people? Most who oppose it, including me, think it is unconstitutional to force the people to buy a product. The Supreme Court ruled that it was a tax thus constitutional. We also have a shortage of doctors. it dictates what your insurance must cover so you can't go with a cheaper product that doesn't cover as much. it also increases the size of government exponentially. I'll see if I can post something that explains it better than I can.
