The Marlin 60 really should be the "Volkssturmgewehr". For now still under the radar, very effective, and all households can afford to have one. The uninformed have some idea that a 22 lr is not much more than a bb gun. My dad used to shoot roos with a Remington Targetmaster single shot with a 2X scope !!!! I wonder if there are figures anywhere on calibres Vs deaths by firearms. I think .22 would figure highly if mass shootings were excluded?

There are. I think if I remember, .22 comes in right behind 9mm with the most fatalities. "Mass shootings" are a red herring. The city of Chicago alone has around 50 firearm deaths a month. The US has several large cities with pathetic violent crime rates and the numbers are incredible. We rural and suburban people keep guns as a final line of defense against encroachment from the much more dangerous city people. The Marlin 60 really should be the "Volkssturmgewehr". For now still under the radar, very effective, and all households can afford to have one. The uninformed have some idea that a 22 lr is not much more than a bb gun. Walnut, roger that. I've a few 22's: hornet and 250 that will do plenty of damage. Lever action Henry at closer range will take care of some dire situations as well. Even with an a 556, the 308 and 300 mag are more damaging without the stigma of the "assault rifle." There is a constant attempt to raise the level of hysteria by the press. The media succeeds at times, but not with most of the people in this community.

Don't forget the Ruger. Right up there with the Marlin. The 10-22 is a wonderful little firearm. The customization options available are terrific too.

A very bad Australian set off a chain reaction about Trump/Bahamas on FarceBook; he couldn't help himself: Chain ReactionApologies for disrupting the international bandwidth.

I'd lend him one of Betsy's just for sport. But she's kind of particular.

I think he’s:
her·maph·ro·dite /hərˈmafrədīt/
noun a person or animal having both male and female sex organs or other sexual characteristics, either abnormally or (in the case of some organisms) as the natural condition.
