Nautonnier: Didn't you know that the "Smart Grid" will prevent outages because of 100's of Megawatt sudden changes in electric generation? Pity it doesn't seem to work. It seems more geared to dropping consumers off the grid to avoid brown outs. And if you think about that you will realize that all they are doing is 'smart' power cuts. Rinse and repeat.

I called my local co-op Elec power supplier, in regards to the "smart Meter". Asked them if the cost was worth it. After a lot of hedging, they finally admitted that they really didn't learn anything. But they can now read my meter, rather than me having to trudge through 4' of snow to read it. Told them amazing, the meter had always been read. They already knew the power consumption patterns in the area. When it is damn cold, most farmers curtail their out door loading, etc. Electric heat consumption goes up tho. I asked them if the smart meter helped them figure out that energy consumption rises after 6:00 am, and falls after 8:00 pm. The engineer I talked to was pretty good. He said now they can just hit a button and graph it, instead of having to input it. Helps in power outages tho, as they can look and see who is out of power instead of waiting for the folks to call. I asked him, has that speeded up response time? He said no, that when folks loose power, they call. Soooooooo.......we all got to pay for a smart meter that folks with common sense and a telephone did anyways. Aren't govt mandates wonderful?

I don't think this administration realizes what it is doing. Most every day they present another shock to the economy. Waters of the USA, CO2 rules, etc, etc. The list is very long.
You just can't keep adding regulatory burdens willy nilly. That creates additional cost and uncertainty.

ca.news.yahoo.com/scientists-inject-fuel-experimental-fusion-device-075715214.html"The impressive results obtained in the startup of the machine were remarkable," he said in an email. "This is usually a difficult and arduous process. The speed with which W7-X became operational is a testament to the care and quality of the fabrication of the device and makes a very positive statement about the stellarator concept itself. W7-X is a truly remarkable achievement and the worldwide fusion community looks forward to many exciting results."
