"Permian Basin could double oil production by 2023, trailing only Saudi Arabia, Russia
An increase from the current 3.2 million barrels per day to 5.4 million would push the Permian Basin past all countries except Saudi Arabia and Russia. The region started 2018 at about 2.8 millions of barrels per day, but production has increased in recent months in response to rising oil prices.
The region already produces more crude than many member nations of the oil cartel, OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries). " www.dallasnews.com/business/energy/2018/06/13/permian-basin-could-double-oil-production-2023-trail-saudi-arabiaNote that is JUST the Permian Basin in Texas Thank God it's not in California huh. There's another export pitch for the EU.

Economics are better there due to infrastructure. Shale plays in North Dakota, Colorado, Louisiana and Ohio can come online in a hurry should the price rise a little more. No reason oil should be above 70.00 for the foreseeable future. Then there are dry gas plays in Texas, Arkansas and other states that have trillions of MMBTU's of proven natural gas reserves. The biggest benefit to the U.S. is cheap fuel prices should power our economic growth for decades. Now if we can just restore fiscal sanity to our budget and take advantage of these natural resources to fuel our economic recovery...

Global Coal Power - www.carbonbrief.org/mapped-worlds-coal-power-plantsWhite/gray=closing, Yellow=Operating, pink=new Could someone explain to me , why ... in a possibly cooling climate ... are ALL UK coal-fired power plants marked as closing? A comparison to Asia would seem to indicate that maybe you are being picked on?

Brainless virtue signalling politicians - many of whom have investments in subsidy farms. At the same time as they are closing all forms of reliable baseload generation they are also insisting that new internal combustion engine cars will be banned by 2040 (20 years time) and replaced by electric cars. www.bbc.com/news/uk-40723581 {{ Note the time from wouldn't it be nice to have a new power station - to power available from new power station is usually considerably more than 20 years}} Electricity for charging all these cars will come from 'recharging points' ... <<<and here a miracle occurs>>>.... riiiiiiight

The comments are kind of fun. One here ... Old fella carlisle said... On plastics -- see that there is development of plastic eating bugs. Great for plastic bags but if they get loose on water and gas systems etc - what then? And I might add ... If they get loose on politicians ... bonanza!
