Remember 'Paris'? I , for one, would not be in the least surprised if we find an 'addendum' to the paper, with the data for years 2008 to present, before Paris. And guess what I think the data will show for both West Antarctica and Greenland? Er....what ever they want it to???

And guess what I think the data will show for both West Antarctica and Greenland? The Antarctic is nearly twice the surface area of Australia and there are only 5 or 6 temperature observation stations. There are little or no satellite measurements. Anyone who can say they can accurately quantify to hundredths of a degree the temperatures or temperature anomalies of Antarctica is lying. They proceed into Marcott like flights of fantasy to get the faithful wolves all excited.

Here's how they deal with the establishment problem. For those of you outside the US, Media Matters is a far left propaganda group. They create mythical creatures like "climate deniers". I don't know nor have I ever talked to anyone who denies there is a climate or that there has been some warming or that man has caused some of it. Once they create the dragon, they then can say or do anything and mislead and cover up all in the name of protecting us from the dragon. From the Media Matters website. h ttp://mediamatters.org/research/2015/11/04/nasa-scientist-warned-deniers-would-distort-his/206612The NASA scientists really are good guys because they help maintain the fear of climate deniers. The fact that the Arctic ice sheet is growing isn't anywhere near as important.

I cannot rationalise why one would behave like this in public.....personally, i'd be ashamed of myself!!

I cannot rationalise why one would behave like this in public.....personally, i'd be ashamed of myself!! When so much EGO is invested in MY TRUTH the compulsive desire is to defend THE HEAP with all available weapons. Witch huntings and apostate mutilations are not much different. MY HEAP is the truth and YOUR HEAP smells like dung. And by the way, my heap was here before your heap, so you're trespassing. Move on Pilgrim or I'll get my gun. Did I mention $ and a place in the history books? There is nothing more parochial in the world than a bunch of 'scientists' sitting around a meeting table defending their turf. Been there. My apologies to those I've met who tried really hard to be different.

douglavers: When you say your limited standard of cold, what do folks near you think is actually cold?
Also, what do they consider hot?
Thanks.

"Cold", for Melbourne is anywhere near 10 deg C. It never freezes or snows in the town, although the hills nearby see occasional. rare, snow. The Snowy Mtns are exactly that!
Hobart is much cooler, and sees more regular snow at about 200 metres altitude. The inland plateau of Tasmania is colder, and actually saw snow on the ground for a few weeks last winter.
Hot is anything over about 33 degC. The record for Melbourne is 44 degC.
Unfortunately, our really hot weather is almost always accompanied/caused by strong gusty winds from the North. The humidity is extremely low.
Together with the general eucalyptus cover, that explains why Victorian bush fires are amongst the world's worst.

Thank you. Cold, where I live is anything below about -20C Warm is anything over 100F or....about 38C. I got a kick out of Florida. Last time I was there it was 70F, and the Florida folks were in heavy jackets. You could tell the Northern folks as we all had short sleeves on. Usually, the humidity is low when it gets over 90F here, so while a nuisance, it isn't unbearable. Thanks for the info. In 1936 it got to 121F, which is 49.4C. Our area record cold is -51.1C So, while Australia is a land of extremes, North Dakota is as well...

Physical measurements have demonstrated a negative bias to Antarctic temps for some time. Sea Ice area has demonstrated a negative temperature bias for some time. Well.............guess what? The models are not going to save Antarctica! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/2015GL066749/full
