Np, labour of love...if anyone can think of a quicker way to animate historic nullschool images then print screening, paste to photoshop, filing etc, love to know it!!

On an eyeball integration[!!] the changes in the North Atlantic looked fairly random, and if anything on the warmish side for the period of the animations.
I think what has been happening this year is qualitatively different.
- the blue blob has been much more consistent
- it is much colder
-the N Atlantic Drift has gone walkabout into the Mid-Atlantic
For the first time the existence of a solar model which has provided a 97% correlation for some aspects of solar output from 1976 to 2008 makes [in my view] a fundamental review of long term weather dynamics inevitable.
It was relatively easy to criticise AGW critics when no alternative coherent theoretical model was available. Not any more.
I am sure a lot of checking of the new model is now happening. If it survives the review process, there is going to be an egg and rotten tomato shortage in many scientific institutions.
The human race might also start to really suffer over the next decade.
While the model predicts major magnetic cancellation over the 2030's, presumably minor interference is now starting to appear.

It appears that the source code is available at github.com/cambecc/earth. Maybe a smart person with appropriate programming skills could find a solution. ** ** or suggest it to Cameron Beccario? PS: Thanks Acidohm for your efforts. That's a WOW from me.

I like jayhd comment in the public response column......"Correct me if I’m wrong (and I’m sure someone(s) will), but I thought the AGW crowd have been saying the sun’s activity does not affect climate."......quite true!

PS: Thanks Acidohm for your efforts. That's a WOW from me. Been having a bit of correspondence with someone on the the Facebook page, mainly to ask permission to put their/his work on you tube. Posed the question about running sequences of historical data, and apparently it's in the pipeline. I actually think this would be amazing. ..can you imaging watching typhoons scurry across the Pacific on their wind map, or watch the development of the El nino in ssta. Should be good!

This guy is pretty knowledgable it seems on postive and negative NAO. Interesting look at existing ssta and also comparable historic ssta similar to current ones, which has saved me quite a bit of research!

Acidohm ... if that were a stock chart you'd probably be getting a little worried right about now! Do you have a direct link to that data you'd care to share?
