Who can explain to me in simple laypersons terms why the East coast seems to have way more openings on 6 than we west coast.
Last week I was on K3UK's board and several East coasters were talking about openings on several days.
I went to the DX maps and sure enough they were. However we on the west side were dead every day they had great openings?
Happens during the summer season a lot too.
Help me out here.

Yeah, out here on the west coast 6 meter foreign dx contacts have been very thin. Maybe it's because europe with its rich dx is much closer to the east coast and contacts can be made with sporadic e condtions. Also lots of foreign dx close by to them from the caribbean region. Also the east coast is much closer to african nations and when transequatorial propagation occurs to south america the east coast and gulf states seem much better postioned than the west coast. Lots of rich dx in the south pacific but the west coast never hears them unless we have F2 propagation conditions.
