Just found this report from 15th.April
The ice on the Tanana River in Nenana is still more than three feet thick and is showing no signs of weakening, at least not yet. That’s bad news for folks with early guesses in this year’s Nenana Ice Classic, the guessing game in which people try to guess the exact date and time to the minute the ice will go out on the Tanana River in the small town about 50 miles south of Fairbanks on the Parks Highway.
Ice Classic officials measured the ice Monday and it averaged 36.5 inches thick. While that’s two feet thinner than last year at this time, it’s still a pretty good slab of ice, Classic manager Cherrie Forness said.

My ticket was off by 9 days 12 minutes!!! Hey, I got the time of day! :-)
I thought it would go early this year, (And it did... a little) the winter was warm and there was not a lot of snow in the area.

Well, at least it went down. The tough years are when it doesn't go down at all...
