Well, Graywolf, the climate has always been changing. Two events near you should remind you off that change. I Great Potatoe Famine of Ireland, the Great Migration from Iceland.
The world is a chaotic place to live. Nothing remains the same, and humanity as a whole has adjusted to the changes. What you think are "exceptional" events, are in reality normal events. The ability of fast reporting, hand waving etc have increased some folks worry level.
The Upper Midwest of the USA is in a drought pattern today. Have I lived through drought patterns in the past? Yep. I am celebrating the drought by looking at buying a sail boat. So far, there is enough water around to sail it, and have fun with my Grandkids.
Life will go on, as it has in the past and will in the future.

Well, the planet is currently cooling, maybe not to levels you'd be happy with GW, but, ya know....the jury is out....
All the weather you find worrying, particularly rain fall events, are due to temp differences rather then warming per se, could be theres more cold air mixing with hot???
Plus, the pause is back aint ya heard?? The temp record is under scrutiny, the hockey stick guy is getting grilled and every single prediction made by pro warming types has failed to come true....
Not to mention the flawed use of basic physics which underlies the whole premise!
In years to come you have different things to worry about, youd be better off not worrying so much?

We folk who tried to warn the world, this past 40 years, of the damage we were doing and the changes we were lining up for Humanity lost the battle. We were already faultering at the turn of the century but the Hay Deniers made through the alleged 'Pause in warming' was the final nail in our coffin. There is nothing we can do now to stop the planet seeing the worse possible outcomes that were being mooted in the 1980's. We will not keep temps below 1.5c, that will fall in the first half of the 2020's and , should we not catch a break ,2c will fall by the end of that decade. We are now dialed in to see increasingly extreme weather events ever more frequently and the start of the mass dying's ( are we not seeing that in NE Africa currently?) with S.India/Africa, parts of China, parts of the U.S. and Russia frequently seeing events that cause migration/deaths. How does it feel to be on the losing side? Well we did our best and it just was not enough. no biggie if you gave your all. It does now leave us free to ask questions of the 'winners' as to why we are seeing this or that event when we were told it was all doom mongering? It it at least gives us the knowledge that we kept our integrity and our cause was just and for the betterment of all? Ho hum..... You did your best, Graywolf. We all respect your efforts. To cheer yourself up, just go see Al Gore's new flick, " An Inconvenient Sequel." Nothing like a good movie to cheer you up...

[[3 California Counties File Multi-Billion Dollar Lawsuits Against "Big Oil" Over Rising Sea Levels
Tyler Durden's picture by Tyler Durden Jul 18, 2017 11:55 PM 0 SHARES TwitterFacebookReddit Just when you think you've seen it all, the snowflake capital of the world finds new, creative and amazing ways to shock your system. In it's latest attempt to do just that, three California counties, two in the Bay Area and one in Southern California, have filed a lawsuit against 37 of the world’s biggest oil and coal companies alleging they're ultimately responsible for the public's usage of fossil fuels and the greenhouse gas emissions they create which will ultimately contribute to rising sea levels and lay waste to their cities...at least that seems to be the 'logic' as far as we can tell.
According to The Chronicle, Marin County, San Mateo County and Imperial Beach (located in San Diego County) filed separate but nearly identical lawsuits in their respective Superior Court offices that seek to tie fossil fuel development to climate-related problems in coastal areas. Attorneys for the three counties worked together on their lawsuits and noted that their residents have already experienced more frequent flooding and beach erosion as well as the possibility that water will eventually inundate roads, airports, sewage treatment plants and other real estate.]]
The US legal system fills me with a kind of fascinated horror.
Reminds me of the OW assertion "The unspeakable in search of the uneatable". My context may be a little inappropriate!!

The alarmist community may live to regret the lawsuit, IFF the oil companies don't do their normal bottle out and settle. First, the oil companies will want full discovery on this possibly setting up the county commissioners for a RICO law suit. Secondly, roll out Niels Morner and associated world sea level experts who will show that there is no acceleration of sea level rise. wattsupwiththat.com/2016/07/21/sea-level-rise-acceleration-and-closure/ notrickszone.com/2016/01/03/new-paper-by-renowned-sea-level-expert-nils-axel-morner-calls-agw-a-new-religion-built-on-false-premises/#sthash.rXwUC00I.dpbsAs 'sea level rise' is _ the_ major imagined threat being used by the alarmists, they could see it shot down in court and that coming as the world get's colder would be a death blow to the cult.

A 21st century Scopes trial equivalent? Let us hope that the defendants demand that the results play out blow by blow before the public. A good place for the 'New'(?) EPA to referee the delivery of 'truth' on a very loud forum, since we cannot count on an unbiased media. A good place for the President to grab 'the bully pulpit' and let the monkeys fall where they may. No dismissals accepted.

There is nothing we can do now to stop the planet seeing the worse possible outcomes that were being mooted in the 1980's. You mean like the head of NASA's climate unit saying in 1988: “The West Side Highway [which runs along the Hudson River] will be under water. And there will be tape across the windows across the street because of high winds. And the same birds won’t be there. The trees in the median strip will change.” Then he said, “There will be more police cars.” Why? “Well, you know what happens to crime when the heat goes up.” ?

Cotton Mather would be proud.
