No, I drive a Dodge with a 5.9 Cummins. When I bought it, there was nothing even close on the market. Even today, with 600K+ miles on it, I out pull the new Fords and Chevies.
And I do it burning a LOT less fuel. The 5.9 was an excellent driver of the wheels.

p.s. I understand why farmers like the Dodge! Get in one and it sounds like and feels like you are in a tractor. Really good stuff for elderly farmers that have younguns to run the tractor!
Myself I am still looking for a model that lets fumes into the cab and has a saltwater spritzer on the dashboard to properly condition the fumes.

the numnutz in the chevy musta had it in the wrong gear!! Yeah, that must have been it... The VW has about the same horsepower and torque as the Dodge, plus its got 4wd and differentials you can lock manually from inside the cab. 2 wheel drive trucks especially (as appears the one above is) have lousy traction without a payload because of being light in the arse. The truck depending upon which Duramax they have in it might be more or less than what the VW has. If you don't have traction it doesn't matter how much horsepower or torque you have. The Chevy starts out dragging the VW with both front and back wheels of the VW slipping. Then the truck's arse starts bouncing and he lost traction. . . .put about a ton of bagged concrete in the back of the truck and it might have looked a bit different. The real test for engine power is in hauling a multi-ton trailer up a steep hill at speed in high gear. If you don't have enough horsepower and torque you can't turn the wheels at high ratios. Let me say I have owned both Dodge and GM trucks so I am not biased, loved them all and I don't like the VW simply because my gear won't fit in it.

Not sure how my old and under powered Defender would fare in such a contest, but as 4X4's go, they are pretty unstoppable:
