Shame we're not seeing the same around the coasts of bering/okhotsk......... maybe sea ice would make over 14 million then instead of being both the lowest recorded for the time of year and the only year not to break 14 million by winters end? Still, winter appears over in the UK and March is coming in like a Lion so I expect it to be a fine end of the month as it goes out like a Lamb...... Nino Years are never that sparkling here but with the whole of the world oceans looking to dump heat into the global atmosphere maybe we'll fare better? A cross between 76'/03 and 06' will do nicely! Mentioned elsewhere...waaaay to early to call the onset of spring in uk graywolf. ... www.metcheck.com/UK/discussion.aspThese guys have consistently called it all winter....should be interesting to see how they do on this... Btw, in my mind, '07 was the first year Britain's seems to have gone into a mode which follows the solar cycle pretty closely, I've been quite opinionated on the weather for years, but from this year there was a real sense that there was a climate structure that differed to anything I had experienced before...only broken by the 2 wet winters previously. I must add I only learnt of solar cycles early last year, the patterns we had here fit the last rise to the recent solar maximum I think. . I really feel this winter or the next, is really going to bite in....a dull damp summer will only convince me more.... I experienced '76, but only from June. ..and mainly from a pram
