Canadian climate sceptic backs call for weather bureau inquiry

A Canadian scientist who describes himself as a climate sceptic has backed a call for an inquiry into the weather bureau 'fudging the figures'.

Patrick Moore, who has a PhD in ecology, was recently in Australia on a lecture tour.

He was one of the founders of Greenpeace, but now describes himself now as a climate warming sceptic.

Dr Moore backs the call from Federal Nationals MP George Christensen for an inquiry into reports the Bureau Of Meteorology has wiped off early temperature records to justify its claims the weather is getting hotter.

He doesn't think CO2 increases are causing the rise in temperature that has been forecast or that man-made emissions are to blame.

He's pointed to records of the drought 118 years ago where temperatures were hitting 50C in Camden, NSW, 44C in Perth and 43C in Geelong, Victoria.

Eventually there will be more calls like this and one of them will result in an inquiry that could lead to a lot of red faces. I wonder how many 'climate scientist' are going to disappear on sabbaticals or to spend more time with their family to avoid the inevitable backlash. Their continued support of the indefensible and falsified hypotheses while people are dying because politicians are using the 'climate will be dangerous' scare to raise taxes and fuel costs. It is not small numbers, in the UK alone several thousand people each winter month die of cold in energy poverty. Accountability will eventually follow.
