The late 1970’s were very cold in the US, while warm and dry on the leftist coast. Jerry Brown was governor of California and they suffered a terrible drought, which he blamed on global cooling.

I didn't see any evidence that Jerry Brown blamed California's last drought on global cooling. California has droughts and the quote provided merely said it was a big disaster for California agriculture.

In fact Goddard's website doesn't even have an attribution of the current drought by Brown or anybody for that matter to global warming.

So where does this global cooling/warming nonsense enter that debate?

Brown is blaming global warming. Interesting that Brown was governor last time we had a bad drought. Maybe it's the Brown effect, similar to the Gore effect.
