EXCLUSIVE: Ice in the Arctic and Antarctic is 'not melting', says global warming expert THE North and South Poles are "not melting", according to a leading global warming expert.Published: 07:01, Thu, December 25, 2014 In fact, the poles are "much more stable" than climate scientists once predicted and could even be much thicker than previously thought. For years, scientists have suggested that both poles are melting at an alarming rate because of warming temperatures - dangerously raising the Earth's sea levels while threatening the homes of Arctic and Antarctic animals. But the uncertainty surrounding climate change and the polar ice caps reached a new level this month when research suggested the ice in the Antarctic is actually growing. And there could even be evidence to suggest the polar bear population is not under threat. Ted Maksym, an oceanographer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts, conducted a study in which he sent an underwater robot into the depths of the Antarctic sea to measure the ice. His results contradicted previous assumptions made by scientists and showed that the ice is actually much thicker than has been predicted over the last 20 years. ~snip~ www.express.co.uk/news/nature/548516/North-South-poles-not-melting-Dr-Benny-Peiser

The global polar ice anomaly is about 900,000 sq kms above 30 year average at present. wattsupwiththat.com/reference-pages/sea-ice-page/Second graph One of these years the press [and the AGW community] might notice. Global ice cannot be increasing if planetary temperature is rising. Does more warmth freeze ice?

Observed ice extent is clearly wrong.....

The big mistake here is that AGW actually causes Antarctic Ice area to expand. Didn't you read the memo?
Forget the new record observed low temps in Antarctica this past year. Of course, cold doesn't produce more ice, it melts it.
Another memo that got missed.

OK , so we now listen to folk whose only published work has been on sports injuries??? And his qualifications? Well he apparently studied political science in Germany.
This is how we like our science in here then? Oh well
At least it printed the reduction in Arctic sea ice volume from this year to last........

I sat through a hearing on the science behind the Klamath water shut off a few years back. Sat and listened to scientist after scientist talk about their studies and the hundreds of peer reviews it had gone through. Only to watch the devastation wrought by one farmer. The conclusion of the scientists holding the hearings was that the science used to shut the water off was all bogus science. AGW science is just like that. Lots of "science", all peer reviewed by papered lap dogs of the policy being sought. It is bogus science. Papers saying you are qualified means nothing. The guy who came up with plate tectonics was a cartographer, Einstein was a patent clerk. I get so tired of AGW supporters bringing up qualifications like it means something. It is right up there with you can only talk about an issue if you are directly effected by it.

Who is this sports injuries person of whom you speak? Ted Maksym?
