Ya know, if one wanted to use the NWS 6-10 and 8-14 day outlook as a planning guide for agriculture, it would be impossible as the trends change faster than the wind direction in North Dakota.

Duwayne: I don't like your charts! This is where the Wisconsin Glacier gets furthest south. 2 years of record ice isn't a comfort...ya know? ?

Sigurdur, maybe if we apply the GISS temperature adjustment algorithms to these charts, we might see signs of warming.

It is really fascinating, just how you might expect an ice age to begin kicking off. Fascinating if we are seeing such an epic event just on the eve.

Not sure about ice ages Walnut. ..a minimum maybe, but don't think any of us will live long enough to witness ice age,
For my money, this all started May bank holiday (as we have in uk) 2007.

Oh I know, on the other hand a Maunder Minimum would feel like an ice age to us, and definitely as close as I would want to come.

My money is on Aug 1st 2007 this all started - been a great year weather wise then broke down end of july with great thunderstorms. Changed after that and my bell peppers i was growing just stopped. Previous years they had been great growing into september. From then on we've seen (in the uk) more snowy winters, colder winters and wet summers, though this spring is looking good so far....
