I am not fully convinced that the climate switch to a colder regime is a certainty. Coming from Texas I probably have a much different attitude than I would if I lived in a more northern latitude. I just can't justify more than say 10 seconds of my time pondering the merits of snow tires.
But I have seriously pondered firewood stocks to help mitigate my winter heating costs.

You may find that the EPA has got there first. See: EPA's Wood-Burning Stove Ban Has Chilling Consequences For Many Rural People I read about this. I have also read that due to the economic downturn the forests of Greece have taken a pretty bad beating from people illegally cutting down trees to use for heat. All I can say to the bureaucrats is when the people get cold and hungry they have been known to start chopping heads off!

It will turn Old Testament real fast for those deadbeat Corinthians.

No, not a certainty. But it is the warmists who have declared that warming IS a certainty. And they are demanding immediate change ($$$). We "deniers" are only suggesting "Wait just a minute" haha. They want you to drink the Kool-aid very quickly. Car salesman want you to sign very quickly. They don't want you to have your mechanic take a look at the suspension.

Walnut, Never, never, ever test drive a new car unless you are 100% sure you are going to buy one. They get you in it and nine out of ten times that new car smell will do the rest. The same can be said for jumping on the AGW bandwagon. I have seen enough to realize the science is not "settled" and I ain't buying.

All your bio fuels are being burnt in the UK, I believe? Probably to prop up the shortfall in conventional power production seeing as they've completely balls'd that up!

UK....just keep sending us money.....we will keep growing trees.......for ya..... Well that's the problem. DRAX power station was built on top of large coal deposits and was due to be closed. Due to the EU Large Combustion Plants Directive which is to prevent 'acid rain' which has been falsified as a hypothesis (but the bureaucrats just carry on banning coal powered generating plants anyway.) To avoid closure as UK is close to the edge in energy production, DRAX is being converted to run on 'sustainable' renewable fuel - wood chips. However, the energy density of wood chips is considerably less than coal. So huge as in Lots^ 99 amounts of wood chips are required. UK would deplete all its forests in a few months. So UK will now be officially depleting the forests of the USA. Particle board and similar building materials will cease to be available at reasonable cost as all off cuts chips and particles of wood will be being burned in UK. To get there of course the wood chips have to be shipped by truck to East coast ports then carried by ship to UK. This negates any savings in emissions - but the bureaucrats assessing power plant emissions are in a different group to those assessing ship emissions. You literally could not make up a scenario as mind numbingly stupid - that take dedicated European bureaucrats and politicians.

I met a guy a week or two ago in Oklahoma who is an executive for a wind power start-up company. He was a nice guy. But I was thinking *would you have willing investors or a fat paycheck without government subsidies* I don't think so.
