For sure Sig.....so I guess my question is..how does that body of water lose so much heat??
It's much warmer then average coming from the gulf coast....
The general opinion is the cold water will alter weather patterns that will redirect cold air masses, not that a cold air mass is cooling the ocean?

Yeah....this link was posted on the above Facebook post too, thing is..I've been banging on about this winter being cold to friends and family for about 18 months now, because I feel the quiet sun affects the weather here in N Europe. Is this cold atlantic patch a result of low activity or something else...maybe it'll warm up and following years won't cool as the sun quietens. I was expecting the cold to be more of an atmospheric forced event then a ocean one, I've not really seen any science on why the sea has gone cold other then warmists based stuff which says the NA drift is slowing, but the science often seems sketchy. Oh well.....guess we'll see!!! It ISNT slowing. That is the thing. Measurements clearly show that it is at average volume. Sure, models say it is slowing but a paper in the last few months where the authors used measurements clearly indicated it isnt. Another AGW garbage pile that it is slowing. Well it certainly looks like it may be rerouting away from Greenland and more across to the Iberian peninsula. I suppose it depends on where the flow rate is measured. Atlantic posts, I went back and aggregated what I have been accumulating from Climate4you and posted a little summary under North Atlantic - Drifted.

Remember to set out cookies and milk! Actually I was going to leave my truck running over night in the hope the CO2 will scare it away!

www.metcheck.com/UK/discussion.aspSo....With a little help from the remnants of hurricane joaquin, weather patterns usually associated with late december/early Jan, are coming up on the weather models. As it happens, the last time an atlantic hurricane made it this far was Bill (??) Which had the opposite effect and gave the UK the only decent weather of the summer!

The PNW is getting snow!!!! Worrisome as that will prob screw up a warm mid-continent winter.
