People throw the term "Climate" around without defining it. I checked the body of science and it's not defined there. There isn't a single falsifiable model (that isn't false) that defines this entity and any pertinent relationships.
I then checked my dictionary and, yes, it's in there. Whew! It actually does exist as an English word, but it has several very colloquial, non-rigid definitions in any given dictionary. I personally prefer the meaning "the temperature in my car" which I can adjust with my "climate control." Those who use the term "Climate" use it, however, with multiple meanings within the same conversation, and the term carries many different meanings between different speakers.
Some people insist that "Climate" is a completely notional concept of trends, statistics and averages, and not some tangible reality like water or the atmosphere, i.e. "Climate" is like the baseball's compilation of batting averages. It's not any particular bat, and it cannot get "warmer" but it can certainly tell you when a batter is hot!
Others insist "Climate" is some sort of physical thing that can be damaged, polluted, heated...but those people will never specify what I can observe such that I can know that I am observing specifically "Climate" and not something else that is not "Climate."
It appears that "Climate" is just another Santa Claus...a popular mythical figure that really doesn't exist.

To add complexity to the issue, ask a AGW diehard proponent "What is the optimum temperature?".

To add complexity to the issue, ask a AGW diehard proponent "What is the optimum temperature?". Exactly, I've asked a few and get no reply. What does perplex me is that these are otherwise intelligent people.

In Missouri, our climate is variable. The old folks always said ... 'If you don't like Missouri's weather, just wait a minute.' Since climate is the summation (average) of weather over an undefined period of time ... then our climate is variable with large extremes ... much larger than those changes labeled 'frightening' by the IPCC and the inmates.

Simple! I have learned that when it is cool, it is weather. When it is warm, it is climate.
