There's a banjo playing message board called Banjo Hangout and there is currently a discussion going on about Climate Change. Banjo Players on Climate ChangeI thought perhaps here I could find people to discuss whether or not the legendary Gibson pre-war banjo tone exists. Anyone? Bueller?

Greetings That NASA graph starting it all looks cool but I question the stats? For example lets take global temps: I didn't realize records all over the globe back in those days were kept. Africa in 1884? Outback in 1884? Heck, the Oklahoma land rush didn't happen till 1889 and North Dakota only became a state in 1889 so I question the validity of accurate temp records globaly. Yeah especially since it was UAE that collected the data, Phil Jones massaged it, and his dog ate the original paperwork.

It is a Legend in every banjo players mind. Like most legends, it is based on fact.

If Stradivarius could have his wood, I don't know why Gibson couldn't. Perhaps you guys could jam up some good old climate change bluegrass ballads. I'd be a fan ... if ya ain't cookin with CO2.
