Given the state of climate science, is it possible some of the committed scientists are genetically deprived: Mood and Well-BeingGives new meaning to the old phrase ... 'you are what you eat'. In science, a continuing diet of crap may yield strange results.

Amazing how the warm anomalies seem to cluster in areas of the world without direct observation.

Amazing how the warm anomalies seem to cluster in areas of the world without direct observation. There is an old joke that goes .... Why does the sun never set on the British Empire? God would never trust an Englishman in the dark! I think the same argument might be made for climate scientists.

Government Climate Scientists and Other Employees Appear to Feel Threatened. the Science Rebellion Against Trump news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/01/scientists-march-on-washington-national-parks-twitter-war-climate-science-donald-trump/?google_editors_picks=trueBy the end of Week One, public affairs officials in agencies where climate scientists work had received directives aimed at silencing them—at least temporarily. The Environmental Protection Agency was ordered, Reuters reported, to take down its climate change page from its website—although that order was shelved in the backlash that followed. Grants and contracts at EPA were also frozen, although there are reports that that edict may also be rescinded. More than a dozen “rogue” unofficial Twitter accounts launched to voice resistance to the orders. Some claimed to be tweeting on behalf of unidentified federal scientists at the Park Service, NASA, the U.S. Forest Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Agriculture and Health and Human Services Departments—although no one knows for sure the identities of the people posting the tweets.

It is standard for incoming administrations to put a hold on public pronouncements from departments until the new administration can vet them and ensure that their new policies are put in place. Of course in this case it affects twitter and facebook that were not seen as 'government' communications 8 years ago but the Obama administration put a hold on communications from departments. However, this is a directive from the Trump administration. So it is unprecedented It does look like we have democrats that will protest against anything that happens probably for the next few months until they realize that the same people that supported Trump are supporting the administration while the urban coastal bubble are in hysterics.

Amazing what an offer of a grant for assessing the warming due to human activity will do to scientific ethics. All falling all over themselves to provide just what the customer asked for - thousands dying in energy poverty each winter? Nope sorry that doesn't balance a nice 3 year grant and a directorship.

It's coming ... prepare. I listen to public radio every day as background noise. Today I heard for the first time a caller (she was very upset) making the argument that CO2 causes global warming (the old argument) AND, wait for it, GLOBAL WARMING CAUSES GLOBAL COOLING. And of course, the evil energy companies knew this. They knew that their product would produce global cooling ... and therefore we are more addicted to their product than EVAH. I think that the evolution in intelligence has gone about as far as we can tolerate.

Are you suggesting that reversion to norm is not the norm.
