Icelandic wool is your friend. I have a vintage sheep skin coat, I'm not sure if it's Icelandic but I've worn a vest under this thing out in the frost, not needed anything else!!

Brutally cold Europe? Really? Yes, very cold air will drop to central Europe but it will be two days event immediately followed by above average temps. Nothing unusual.

I have tried the "synthetic" fiber. It isn't close to wool, in regards to warmth and wearing ability. Pendelton mills make great products. Have shirts that are 10+ years old that look new. Have a coat that I did wear all the time for work. Zipper failed, and have to get it to a seamstress who has a heavy enough sewing machine to replace the zipper. Wool liners in my mitts. Nothing compares. Stay warm.............it is the only warmth you have.

GFS going other way for N Europe at least, a cold pool likely for Italy and balkans down to Greece, but air getting drawn from south over UK so mild here......looks like.....
If course we're not there yet, if Bastardi gets it right he'll be one of the few to call it!!

Joe Bastardi is doubling down on his 'brutally cold' European forecast in the new saturday summary ... as well as cold in US (daily & sat forecast). www.weatherbell.com/That's it....I'm buying sledges!! Try a few of these (but not if you are sensitive by nature): It Ain't Cricket, Old Chap
