The report was paid for with American dollars, I guess. There used to be a term in America in the first part of the last century ... "dirt poor". It was a misnomer. My grandparents and great grandparents and great-great grandparents were "dirt poor" ... they owned their own land in a quantity sufficient to feed their families and produce a "small" cash surplus for the extras they could not produce for themselves. These were the standards of the 19th and early 20th centuries ... perhaps exclusive of the migrants that settled in American cities and never left. Today's poor (and mostly everyone else) would choke on these conditions, as they don't meet today's expectations. Poverty is a term relative to time, place and expectation. Well said, Missouri.

"Is President Trump’s Nuclear Button Tweet a Sign of Insanity?
One folksy definition of “crazy” is that it involves trying over and over again a solution that has never worked while hoping it works next time. President Trump is doing something closer to the opposite of that. He’s doing something new, both strategically and verbally. To be fair, new things can be crazy too. But usually only if they don’t work. When a new and unexpected thing works out well, we call it genius. And that begs the question: Is President Trump’s approach to North Korea working?"blog.dilbert.com/2018/01/03/president-trumps-nuclear-button-tweet-sign-insanity/#more-16726Scott has read the situations right almost all the time this one is interesting.

This could become extremely important and possibly it is the reason for the Yemeni (actually Iran) attacks on Saudi Arabia. Although they are Shiites and the Saudi's are Sunni/Whahhabi they are actually very similar islamic cleric managed 'secular' countries. If Saudi were to become more secular with codified rather than Sharia style law - that process would threaten Iran, as we are seeing with their heavily repressed demonstrations. It is unlikely that this would have happened without the MAGA approach to energy from the Trump administration which has removed the power from OPEC and reduced the income for the OPEC states. People have failed to understand the policies of Trump as they put each area of the world into stovepipes and do not understand the connections. I think that Trump and Secretary of State Tillerson have a very good handle on what they are doing by upsetting the energy balance of the world. They have even said that they will start supplying natural gas to Europe. The effect is that Russia is losing out, OPEC nations are losing out, Venezuela is losing out. The power balance is then upended and real government has to be put in place in the 'desert kingdoms' they can no longer pay their way out of problems and 1970's oil crises are no longer a weapon. Another win for Trump.

“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”- General James Mattis In context, this recruiting poster message makes sense: Join the Army, meet interesting people, kill them.
