Britain could use another ruler like Queen Elizabeth I:
Elizabeth I of England/Quotes I know I have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too.
Though the sex to which I belong is considered weak you will nevertheless find me a rock that bends to no wind.
A clear and innocent conscience fears nothing.
I would rather be a beggar and single than a queen and married.
To be a king and wear a crown is a thing more glorious to them that see it than it is pleasant to them that bear it.
Do not tell secrets to those whose faith and silence you have not already tested.
God forgive you, but I never can.
I do not so much rejoice that God hath made me to be a Queen, as to be a Queen over so thankful a people.

Get you next time Ratty My concern is: No thought was given to harnessing the renewable energy provided by the meteor.

My concern is: No thought was given to harnessing the renewable energy provided by the meteor. Nor to determining if it was just a "failed" Tesla.

Nor to determining if it was just a "failed" Tesla. Has North Korea been mentioned yet? Give it an hour or so. Undoubtedly it was a failed Trump plan to destroy humanity.

SOBER READING - Number 9 caught my eye. An incredibly "bad" winter might point the way toward a "replacement scheme". What would the results of a total replacement scheme look like in a winter like 2009-10?
Recommendations for change
Against this backdrop of policy delays and reversals, the Committee makes a series of recommendations across different sectors, including transport, heating, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas removal to get the UK ready for net-zero by 2050.
Ten priorities include:
9. the ‘Renewable Heat Incentive’ scheme is due to close in 2021 but no replacement scheme has yet been announced

Renewable heat incentive. When your fuel tank is empty, fill it back up. It is the only renewable way of heating that I know off.

After Boris Johnson closed the session of Parliament with a restart date mid-October there is now insufficient time for 'Remain' (read equivalent to Never Trump and run by their own versions of Nadler and Schiff) to come up with some clever parliamentary wheeze to keep UK in the EU....

This sounds like a very American tactic. Does the UK have a history of Judges overturning "permissions" of the Monarch in recent history? Judge refuses to halt parliament suspension plans - BBC News www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNY_4kyJp2Y

Note that there is no such thing as a British citizen, there are only British subjects, subjects of the Queen. The laws are only valid if the monarch signs them. Where the US pledge of allegiance is to the flag and the people it represents, in the United Kingdom the allegiance is to the monarch, who is supposedly politically neutral. All legal actions applying the law are announced as the monarch vs the accused. Therefore in this case the monarch would be on both sides of the action which is a nonsense.
