Decided to go for an early breakout this year April 26th. One of the few things that I will wait until the last minute to do........have until April 5th so I will hold my time.

So we've lost roughly 10"s of ice this past 2 weeks?
If this continues then it'll be a very early breakout this year.
Looking at snow cover melt over Canada/N.USA there could be some real big spring floods this year as well and I don't know whether this sudden influx of melt water will make a difference to this drainage basin or not?

April 16th.....not looking like its going to last long! Spring has broken here with nary a forecast to stop it through early April ... so far. Feb at -2.2 F below 30-year normal, and Mar about -3 F. Highs hit 60 F today. Birds are eyeing my mailbox as a likely nesting site ... again. I'd test out the plastic snake but my mail man's an old guy.
