With President Trump I expect to live to a ripe old age. I was very concerned if Mrs. Clinton got elected, that our lifespan would be cut dramatically. I don't think most folks knew what a WarMonger Mrs. Clinton is. Just about every career politician is. Defense contractors give and give generously to folks of both sides of the aisle. Over time that adds up and war is good for business. It all goes back to that military industrial complex Ike warned us about. Say what you will about Mr. Trump he is not a career politician nor is he beholden to years worth of campaign contributions.

It all goes back to that military industrial complex Ike warned us about. Say what you will about Mr. Trump he is not a career politician nor is he beholden to years worth of campaign contributions. Yep and the neo-conservative ideologues from both sides of the aisle are all over his case on this too. Charles Krauthammer leads the attack from Fox. Charles Krauthammer has an axe to grind - he was disparaging about candidate Trump from the beginning and joined the chorus of he could never get elected now... These talking heads have been living in an effete bubble of niceness and clever handshakes and a patois of word usage that has taken them away from the real world and they do not realize it. Unlike a billionaire builder who is as at home on a building site in Queens as he is in a board room in Manhattan. That is one of the reasons he likes Generals like Mattis who would spend the night in fox holes on the front line as much as back in HQ. Trump understands the workers on the shop floor in the rust belt, down the mines in Kentucky and West Virgina and on building sites in Florida in a way that other politicians cannot hope to match; and to be honest do not care to try to match "after all they are only (name a segment identity) voters". The swamp is made up of the parasitic elites and their hangers on in the media and 'strategists'/lobbyists none of them productive - and it is fighting back - but Trump is not alone as st his rallies show. But the Swamp think he is alone as everyone _they_ talk to says he is. I think that the next 18 months will be very instructive for the swamp creatures with a sudden cold shock of reality.

"Some 45 million people in a region stretching from Nepal and Bangladesh through India to Pakistan are dealing with "catastrophic" floods from two months of continuous torrential rain in the worst monsoon season in years. Worldwide media have been heavily covering the floods in Texas from hurricane Harvey, but the floods in South Asia have been far more disastrous. Wide-scale flooding stretching across the Himalayan foothills has caused landslides and washed away tens of thousands of homes and vast swathes of farmland. At least 1,400 people have been killed. Elsewhere, hundreds of thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed, and many people are facing starvation. In Bangladesh, 1,300 cases of water-borne diseases have been reported. In Mumbai, a multi-story residential building collapse claimed 33 lives, left 15 injured and dozens more buried in the rubble. In Karachi, at least 23 people have died, mostly due to electrocution. Interesting answer in a thread on WUWT "The basic astronomy of our Earth’s axis is the sole determinant of our climate (over time) and there is nothing at all the tiny human ants on the surface can do about it.
Earth’s axial tilt is currently 23.5° degrees and declining.
When Earth reaches between 22.2° & 23.5° there will be another Ice Age that will last 10,000 years and no amount of human activity will prevent it, not even a nuclear war"wattsupwiththat.com/2017/09/20/are-the-glaciers-in-glacier-national-park-growing/#comment-2614960So we are in the location in the Poincare section where the Earth's orbit around the interglacial attractor is such that the orbit could change toward the Glacial Attractor. All it will need is the appropriate push from other Earth cycles such as PDO and AMO or a deep La Nina or some other event and the conditions for a move to the glacial attractor may be met. Don't sell your coat.

Don't sell your coat. And these slower axial tilt climate changes are now being overlain on (or op) solar cycle changes, which are affecting our climate dynamics now and in the shorter time frame. And if they reinforce each other, Code will be in snow heaven for a long time.

Code. Did this happen? Another cold, wet, snowy winter for you guys? wattsupwiththat.com/2017/09/20/are-the-glaciers-in-glacier-national-park-growing/#comment-2614960John F. Hultquist September 20, 2017 at 11:57 am Don, Check the Rainer National Park web cams. Winter arrived yesterday. A volunteer trail crew (WTA) has been working on the Mount Fremont Lookout Trail, at about 7,000 feet for the past few weekends. Cameras show new snow, forecast says more to come. We’ll likely be looking for a place closer to 4,500 feet for this weekend. Glacier Basin Trail, maybe.
