Yep, we are seriously below. Was up in Canada this afternoon to pick up a loader. Darn shipping dept closes at 3:30!!!! I had a little bit of dirt on my trailer, had to return and wash it clean so I could cross de border. Missed the shipping dept by about 30 minutes. Soooo.....Monday will come. Canada is no better off than Grand Forks area. This is going to be a late spring. Period. Looking at photos of the area from last year, trees were leafed already....this year, not so much. Probably 2 more weeks to get the same effect...

Our rain has eased off: Current prediction is for three sunny days (32C, 31C, 30C) then more showers from Wednesday. Three sunny days might dry out the yard and footpath. Morning temps going under 20C ..... TTL !!

Corn and Wheat prices are still in the tank. So if the tougher northern hemisphere winter has had an effect on agriculture it has not shown up yet in the prices. We will see what happens as the spring planting season progresses. Cold, snowy winters are not my fear. Late spring and early fall frosts and freezes trouble me more. Ran across this from the FAO. What indexes (links) do you follow Glenn?

I follow the FAO's website: www.fao.org/worldfoodsituation/foodpricesindex/en/And Bloomberg. I just click on commodity prices and edit the graph to show five years worth of data. It's trending upward but still well below 2014 prices. I think the FAO is good at showing you what happened as in (past tense) but the market is much better at forecasting future trends.

We have a Nenana Ice Classic. We watch and speculate here on all kinds of other wiggles. Perhaps we need a North American (or World) Wheat Classic where the bets are on year-end (or other date) wheat prices. Or corn ... or soybeans. Or a weighted combo to account for inter-crop shifts.

It rained a little bit in Oklahoma and Kansas last night. Wheat markets took a dive yesterday.
