Astromet Forecast: True Winter Not Here Yet 'Expect Unseasonably Warm Weather Until February 2019.' Last year when I forecasted an irregular weather year of 2018, some people continued not to understand what that meant - though I spelled it out quite clearly. This is because many have short-attention spans when it comes to knowing the difference between brief weather conditions and climatological weather. Meteorological weather is 10-14 days in span. Climatological extends from 14 days to months and years. My forecast continues to be that winter in the northern hemisphere will be very late this year by about 44-45 days, according to my calculations. Rather than Dec. 21st, I expect true winter to begin on February 3, 2019. Winter will last until April 23, 2019, so spring 2019 will be later than normal. The worst winter weather will be in March 2019; though February will see heavy snowfall and polar vortex incursions - it will be followed with snow, gusting winds, freezing rain and ice storms in March. So be ready for that. I consider March 2019 to be mid-winter and even through the vernal equinox takes place in March. That means spring next year is not going to come early. It will colder and wetter than normal, so your planting season will be delayed. The winter season will continue through all of March and still be with us in April. The 'winter-like conditions' seen this autumn season is part of the irregularity of the seasons I previously forecasted - but it is still not yet winter. Consider how right now you can find unseasonably warm temperatures for December 2018 - in the 50s and 60 degree Fahrenheit range - in places like in Denver, Colorado. If you go to Google News and type in 'Warm Temperatures' you will see what I mean when I say that it is not yet winter. And, with the winter solstice to arrive on December 21st, you will continue to see how weather conditions will continue to be generally warmer-than-average going into the month of January 2019. True winter will be late this year. January 2019 will continue to see mostly dry and sunny weather for a majority of the northern hemisphere, that is, until early February opens up true winter in 2019 that will last until mid-April. Those who did not believe my previous climate and weather outlook when I predicted an irregular 2018 weather year with warmer-than-average temperatures in autumn causing a late Winter season in 2019 should check out what is happening right now in the real world. This is the power of astronomic forecasting. www.startribune.com/baby-it-s-warm-outside-for-december-in-minnesota/502895481/

We do seem to have a good level of agreement between Joe Bastardi at Weather bell and Astro. Seems that I am lucky that not only did I not sell my coat - I purchased a new one. That is a little "belt, braces and piece of string" when you live most of the time in Florida

Astromet Forecast: True Winter Not Here Yet 'Expect Unseasonably Warm Weather Until February 2019.' I'm picking up some sarcasm Patience Code. He who laughs last, laughs best. I've called the "govnor" about a pardon.

Between autumnal and vernal equinox puffa jackets and deer stalkers are worn by the locals (some even use the " winter clothing if there is an 'R' in the month" rule)

Here at the moment, you could get by with a tattoo of a bikini and still be hot. I phrased that badly ... sorry.

Looks like the December "warmer" interlude will work out well for our little road trip to SW Florida from the 20th to 29th ... meaning no blizzards that I have to slip and slide through either going or coming. On Joe's (and others) forecasts I'll leave the 4-wheel drive truck at home and venture out in the wife's front-wheel drive VW wagon ... better gas mileage. Looking forward to some sun and heat. Stock up on vitamin D for the coming 3-4 month(?) deprivation season. Number 50 and Guinness in the the land of the newly wed and nearly dead.
