Positively "soggy" around here. A lot of condensation around these parts this spring. And all that released heat is going where? All that rain up there in your part of NA is keeping high water, with its attendant pressure on the levees, on the rivers deep down in Dixie. Me thinks the Army Corps of Engineers will be letting a lot of repair contracts for flood control when the rivers finally go down this summer. The Mississippi has been at or just below flood stage here in New Orleans for going on two weeks, with little drop in sight. Only the spillways are preventing some major flooding on Ole Man River.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news ... but we are getting pounded again ... even as I type ... 120 miles wide and headed east. The potato wagons are crossing the bridge.

Things are looking up here. Monday is forecast to be sunny after the best part of two months of daily nuisance rain.

I'm going to have a look at the flooding today. Creeks should be cresting soon.

Tornado sirens still keep going off here. I think by some standard, someone might say that this place is uninhabitable.
