We are certainly hoping that it melts. There are millions of acres of crops left to be harvested. Sig, how unprecedented unusual is this snowfall? Last year, 2018, we only got 9 inches or so on the 10th of October. This year? I measured 17" in my yard. My Bobcat is at the spud house, I don't have a tractor in the yard. I am glad I had a 3500 Dodge pickup with 20" tires. Even as high as it is, it pushed snow. I had to shovel a few times, then learned how marvelous the new transmission is. I went from low 4WD to high, and used the torque. Albeit, it moved VERY slowly at 1st. The wheels didn't spin though, so slowly gained momentum and I was able to depart the yard. I did have to shovel the 3' drift at the end of my driveway tho. No sense breaking off mud flaps etc. Backing up worked better than going forward. OK......back to question..........Unusual..........as it hadn't happened prior to 2018 in memory. I asked my 94 year old father......he couldn't remember anything like this at all. 1 year? OK, an outlier. 2 years in a row? ??......... www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYvD4vvSk00 The video is from the southern valley when the storm started last year.

Ah, ok....in uk pick up truck world, big tyres go on smaller rims (im sure its the same elsewhere.....) Truck comes with 17/18" rims and 29ish" tires, 33"/35"etc tires go on 16" rims....

It finally warmed back up around here. Too late for my zinnias though. They are dead, dead.

Yep, there will be at best a hint 5-7 days out, no real certainty till 3 days. Could be down to details as close as 1. Nothing known to science can produce any greater accuracy then that. No-one (except maybe Astro...) can say what will happen in 10 days or more. Literally anything could happen 🤷♂️
