Recent effects of solar bombardment on Earth.

I'm sitting here thinking about that report a couple of months ago that an Air Force satellite launch found the top of the atmosphere (ionosphere) much lower than expected, even for a solar saddle. If anyone forgot, here's a link:

Could this explain the fireballs? What about sprites and spires and thunderstorms? Wouldn't a lowering and cooling upper atmosphere draw heat up out of the oceans/land? Katrina? Last year's tornado outbreak in the Midwest (and almost none this year 'cause the gradient got spent-out)

tornados are rare this year because of El Nino coming back and oceans temperatures play a rule in this physical event (a paper given by Vukcevic related this climatic event with solar activity).

The article you give about ionosphere is very interesting to bring closer of the previous Vukcevic showed

and I add for the anecdote : japaneeses celebrate Tanabata festivities since 7 july until the first week of august (the date when Altaïr and Vega meet together separated by the arm of milky way)

Is it the helium and or galactic cosmic rays causing the noctilucent clouds? (shimmering clouds)
Anyone read of any new reports of noctilucent clouds around the Aug. 7, 2009.

I'm not sure. I'm not confident in my cloudspotting abilities, but ... I've never seen clouds that high reflecting sunlight from below the horizon from that altitude, I must consider - was I not looking? :S
