Global warming is not all about melting of glaciers and all that, it is also the reason for climate change just like in Alaska. abrupt change in temperature and broken previous records are the facts behind frequent climate change, so that we cant neglect the factor of global warming.

i think that this year will be the most warmest year of all the time as it's spring is going on and the temperature rose to 38 degrees which is not a good sign for us as that this year the weather will be more warmer then before. So we need to take initiative and steps to stay safe.

By the way it's a great idea that we can overcome with global warming by blowing bomb but it's not possible this world will not allow us to do so. jokes apart, it may cause massive destruction as well for and earth and left many nuclear footprint which will harm us.

Why so? Could you please mention some reasons? The family used to use used oil, all types, and produced biodiesel which was sold to I think it was UPS or it may have been FedEx trucks. Return on investment was not fantastic and it was a limited market both in terms of production and use. We could only produce so much as we could only acquire so much used oil and there were only so many vehicles that ran on the finished product. It turned out to be a nice hobby. Did I mention it was dirty? But what about the fuel which can be obtained from factories and industries? i guess it's quantity is far enough as compare to others bio mass sources.

Why you think so that it isn't a reliable source of renewable energy? Can't we use the wasted bio fuels like take simple example of our daily use(i.e vegetable oil), we can recycle it and use it to produce energy and use that energy for our daily use. There are many restaurants which use excess of oil to deep fry food like KFC, so if we take wasted oil from likewise restaurants and use it to recycle. This is only one example, we can take many examples from our daily life and use these sources to produce electricity. Samijafri, your examples are small scale and (probably) good examples of recycling but I wouldn't hold my breath WRT global road transport/shipping/air transport/agriculture. Still a worthwhile discussion .... Yeah you are right it might be applicable on small scale only but there many other sources of bio fuels as a renewable energy. Thanks mate

Nope, I agree with Sig. The whole idea of "re"newable energy is bust, it's an oxymoron statement like a Everlasting Gobstopper Why so? Could you please mention some reasons?

What do you think about bio-fuel as a source of renewable energy? Can Bio Fuel be a reliable source of renewable energy in future?
