In a post launch interview on NASA TV, SDO Launch Director Omar Baez stated that he had heard from SDO Operations and informed him that SDO's Solar Panels had deployed successfully, the satellite's guidance system had acquired the sun and the Satellite was "power positive". He said that data was being downloaded successfully to a tracking station in Hawaii.
Within the next hour the High Gain antannas will deploy and SDO ground station in Las Cruces New Mexico will start commanding the Spacecraft.

Seeing as there are no more comments it is probably for the best to close this thread out. Here is the launch with the first stage and the first burn of the second stage.www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdnxze8f7xU&feature=channelAnd the conclusion of the launch phasewww.youtube.com/watch?v=50g_BGMqMdg&feature=player_embeddedAs mentioned above SDO is off on it's own, in it's inteaded GTO, It's solar panels are deployed, it's guidance system has found the and its producing power. It will be in it's final orbit in 3 Weeks and First light will be in 2 months. Further comments should be placed in the "SDO and other Solar Observatories" thread.
