Yes, I think also that people are searching for certainties. I don't know if they are actually possible or even why we are here.
I look at children & the people I know - the times when we seem focussed the most, when delight lights up our faces, is when we are in a learning situation, when things are new & we suddenly see the world around in a different way. I don't see that happen much in schools though, which is where I think it should be encouraged but isn't.
If we are here to learn then surely that means to be often putting ourselves in the path of un-certainties, so we can learn? yet society seems geared for & determined to enforce the creation of a population of people who think alike & only in 'official' channels.
So in the whole agw mess, most people accept what is said by those they are assured by media are the 'AUTHORITY' in the subject & haven't been given the tools to search out the lies & truth for themselves.
We've been bred to see the world as a place that is KNOWN, where the Knowledge is settled & only the fringes around the Known are there to be discovered, but the truth is we know very little indeed. We can use electric charge but have no idea what it actually is & magnetic 'charge' is an even deeper mystery.
That's why I wonder if something has gone wrong with the system. It seems to me we should come to learn, struggle to overcome the handicaps of being in the physical & gain knowledge that we can take back into the higher realms, but I can't believe the game is set up so most can't achieve, so most get trapped in the mire of the day-to-day chase of the owning of 'things' that they never get to see or feel the numinous.
The ideas of Rupert Sheldrake & Bruce Lipton are a bit left field of biology but they are doing real science, checking phenomena as best they can to see where the evidence takes them, & it seems to be taking them into proof we cannot be just a physical body & brain.
If this is so, & the evidence is building, then for the first time we might be able to demonstrate that life is NOT just about having the latest WII, or owning a better car than the guy down the street, & maybe we can get refocussed in our lives.
Looking at the little we know of the far past, when Men did things we can't duplicate for all our vaunted technology, I can't help wondering if they had more happiness in their lives. Looking at the remnants of their civilisations, the monuments & knowledge that has come, they seemed to be more of a mind as a society - certainly they devoted vast resources to achieving projects that would give our billions pause.
To have constructed the way they did, with populations far less than ours, shows a deep sense of who they were & why they came. And looking at what little is left, it seems they were almost always focussed on the quest for immortality of the soul.
If we are all little bits of THE ALL, if we are here for self-discovery, then the Self we are looking for would necessarily include the physical, but I honestly don't think the physical should be the totality of our quest - & yet it seems that is where our society is headed.
We get our 'knowledge' handed to us as little packets, & most have had their love of learning quenched early on in our supposed 'education' system. Use of the word education for what they do to us shows a very 1984 doublespeak - it takes most of us a long hard struggle to overcome the programming that occurs in our schools.
What value is Knowledge gained this way? Can we call it Knowledge at all or is it just Information? What kind of crippling of THE ALL is going to occur if all the agents forget their tasks & take the false packets of data back into higher realms? What shape can we bring to the final coalescence if we fail to overcome our world & learn it intimately along with how the spirit infuses it, and how Consciousness creates it constantly & forms the very structure of it.
How can THE ALL truly know itself if we don't give it our best efforts?
