This solar cycle sure is taking it's time to get rolling. Impatiently waiting for the upper HF bands to get active and also for the Aurora to get active also. Taking pictures of the aurora has long been a hobby of mine and to me there is nothing quite as awe inspiring as a good display. Here is a link to a few of the pictures I have taken. I need to repost most of the pictures because they are a bit grainy. www.spacew.com/gallery/image004096.htmlKDØKUK

Thanks... If anyone needs any tips on how to do aurora photos just ask. Many times the colors are not visible to the eye but are on film. I have not done any digital photos so this solar cycle will be a new experience as i plan on doing some digital photos. So far the conditions have been close but no cigar to do photos. we need a big ol x class flare headed our way.

I agree. Great pictures. I'm trying to get my schedule worked to get another trip up to Alaska soon. I'd love to be able to take pictures of the Aurora - that'll be one to "one up" my colleagues with . I've never seen the Aurora. Every time I've been far enough north, it's either been overcast the whole time, or a full moon (where people told me not to bother), or solar minimum ... usually a combination of at least two of those. The aurora is an unchecked box in my wife's and my bucket list.
