On the pipeline in Chad. The fact that a corrupt, statist government will plunder and steal money loaned to it by a clueless statist International organization like the World Bank I was just curious to see what people thought before I put in my 2p. The world is barking mad! My comment would have started out as above. I'd also have asked why does a multibillion dollar earning industry need subsidies? And why is Chad selling all this oil to western nations when it can't provide fuel for its citizens? As Marie Antoinette might have said "If they can't have charcoal, let them plug their cookers into the wall socket".

If I am allowed to say so, I think it is really dumb that a whole country is named Chad. And that name sounds way too white, anyway. I hope this doesn't make you angry steve.

Well, I always though "United States of America" was a bit elitist given it implies that all the other American states are disunited.

No steve, you have just made another invalid inference. When we became the United States of America, our neighbors were still Prisoners of Mother England, and nasty Spain. I guess if they worried about political correctness in those days they might have called it the United States of Part of America. Maybe we should change it now. You all might want to consider modifying "Great Britain". Just kidding steve, I am delighted and proud to be a descendant of poms (Normans, Simon De Montfort).

They let the maniacs out of the asylum: online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204771304574181522575503150.html"Stratospheric sulfate injection appeals to many geoengineering proponents for a few reasons. It doesn’t require a massive leap in technology to carry out successfully; arguably, we could start doing it this year, if we needed to. It’s relatively cheap, probably costing just a few billion dollars a year. And because stratospheric sulfate injection emulates an effect of volcanic eruptions, we already have some idea of what to expect from it—for better and worse. We know, for example, that the cooling effect could start within weeks of the injection process." "Unforeseen consequences" is just barely mentioned in this article.

Just shoot me and get it over with.

This just proves my argument that these Paul Ehrlich wannabes are not interesting in saving the environment, but in reducing the population of humans. They want to add toxic chemicals like sulfates to the atmosphere (I guess acid rain is ok if it is generated on purpose by the liberal left) to cool the climate that will kill millions (cold snaps in the winter kill 10 times more people than heat waves in the summer, not to mention shorter growing seasons, killilng frosts, etc. And they call this science with a straight face.
