Hansen, six letters starting with H Like Hitler. Conclusive. The policies he endorses would see more death and suffering now AND in the future than the thing he's trying to save the dying people from. I wouldn't necessarily toss him in with hitler...but he IS wrong on this.

What I am suggesting is that there is a distinct tendency for radical and uninformed advocates of environmentalism, be it global warming or otherwise, to reduce their positions and argument to ad hominem attacks, both direct and indirect, against those who would employ rational and critical thought in solving issues facing mankind, now and in the future. It is highly inappropriate and futile for those adherents of the latter philosophies to adopt the techniques of the former. It is self-defeating. A free and open society assures the triumph of truth over bias, prejudice, and ignorance, so I believe open discourse must be jealously protected --and this means encouraging those with opposing opinions, whatever the motive, and that they be protected from retribution and personal disparagement.

Right on the mark! In fact in the free world, people quickly identify that and respond against it. The idiots that play those kind of cards are only ensuring that even if they are right. . . .resistance will only grow.

Yes, I would vote for option d) in this poll. Only a dishonest lacky would omit this option.

The prophet of doom is getting run over by the profits of doom. It happens every time. And it could not happen to a more deserving person. Waxman Markey, the effort to tax the air we breathe, has nothing at all to do with climate. It is simply an effort to do what AGW has done from the start: highjack science for social goals. The social goal of Waxman Markey is to build a new machine to fund government and enrich government insiders. Like all other AGW pushed legislation, it will do nothing at all for the climate. Hansen, and all of the rest of the scientists who confused the output of their models with data, deserve what is going to happen to them when the profits of doom get annoyed by people complaining about their plans for other people's money. There never was a climate tipping point out there for Earth's climate. Hansen new that. But there is a tipping point when stupid ideas take on a life of their own, like Frankenstein. Hansen thought he could control that, and he is finding out how wrong he is. It would be entertaining if this Frankenstein monster was not going to hurt so many people.

Dr. Krugman's article is more than disappointing. An issue as important as the climate is deserving of serious debate which is innately denied by the ad hominem characterization of those with differing opinions as "dishonest, liars, and traitors." Such adjectival nonsense ensures opposition and would seemingly discredit the Nobel committee's selection of Dr. Krugman as a rational person.

Boxer is the dumbest person now serving in the Senate (and she has a great deal of competition for that distinction). She is the perfect personification of the fear of the and hype of AGW- gullible, uninformed, and reactionary. This nasty, hypocritical tax bill pretends to be about climate. It is not. It is about raising taxes and giving money to insiders. Stopping this bill is a truly important effort for anyone who actually cares about the environment and the well being of people.
